Whenever Maharashtra speaks about Karnataka border issue, Karnataka says Mahajan report is final.

Let's see what is Mahajan report.

Mahajan commision used Pataskar formula in favour of Karnataka however wherever Marathi had upper hand Mahajan came with his own theories.

Mahajan denied 146 villages from Santpur, Humnadad, Bhalki talukas of Bidar district & what was the reason? Bidar will lose its district status. I mean they can add some Kannada talukas from Gulbarga but they want to keep Marathi area.

But he is ready to Handover Akkalkot, South Solapur, North Solapur with Solapur city to Karnataka. And interestingly here he doesn't care about the Solapur's district status.

Again, to Handover Akkalkot to Karnataka his reasons was - Akkalkot have Kannada influence and Kannada forms more numbers than Marathi.

Irony is, he denied Belgav city and proved above reasons are wrong.

Belgav is pure Marathi city, it has Marathi dominant in almost every sectors. Marathi was and is always primary language here. And City looks more Marathi than Kannada and in 1951, Marathi population in city was 51%.

Mahajan rejects claim over Karwar. Again Maharashtra never claimed whole Karwar district. The region north to the Gangwali river is largely Marathi and Konkani speakers dominants that includes Karwar city, Joida, Halyal, Sadashivgad

According to Mahajan this region don't make geography integrety with Maharashtra. And fun part is to discontinue this integrety he is ready to bifurcate Khanapur taluka which have 80% Marathi majority such that MH will continuity with Karwar.

& 1 more funny reason from Mahajan - this is Jungle area & he don't want to handover Khanapur area 2 MH because KA will loose jungles. 🙄 I mean he was appointed 2 observe Marathi Kannada majority villages but he is already made his mind with KA.

To Handover Tulu speaker Kasaragod of Kerala to KA he said official documents and elections results base year is 1951, however for Marathi areas this base year is 1961. I mean who can use the 2 separate formulas for the same report.

The Belgaum city is heart of this border dispute. Mahajan is ready to handover villages from Chikodi, Athani, Humeri & Belgaum talukas. However he is not ready to handover Belgaum city. Why?? He says Kannada & Urdu forms more numbers than Marathi.

Belgaum City is surround by Marati speaking villages but Mahajan commision denies that. They city's water project have pipeline from Marathi villages and Maharashtra commission wanted to give this span to Karnataka 🙄

There are so many Marathis living in Indore, Banglore, Gwalior, Baroda, Hubali, Dharwad, Hyderabad. However the fight is going on for only region which have geographical integrety with Maharashtra. And that also based on Pataskar formula.

On other hand - Karnataka says some King ruled these area in blah blah century so they wants this region. And even if that's true before these region was under control of Marathas and here also Marathi has upper hand.
