Don't Look Up would've been a better movie if it wasn't shitting on working class people the whole time.
I think the real (good) takeaway from the movie is that scientists don't know how to communicate with the public and their message often gets lost in translation.
I also liked how the movie isn't afraid to swing at the corporate left. Taken as a metaphor for the climate crisis, corporations are just monetizing the whole situation with "green" marketing.
The biggest problem by far is people care about celebrity gossip instead of focusing on real issues. And everything serious is watered down to make it palatable to the public. Just look at the supply chain crisis -- news stations are reporting it as Santa missing his deliveries.
