the best thing about second life is it takes about 5 minutes to learn how completely undesirable it is to actually try to navigate a user-generated 3d virtual world lmao
lets see here, i think this thing is still connected to my hotmail account
ok here we go
no clue where i am but apparently my clothes are loading
yeah....
well i tried to move for about 40 seconds but apparently someone built a condo on top of me while i was logged out for ten years and i was stuck. then i got kicked because of a network error. so thats what user-generated 3d customizable virtual spaces are like! tune in next time!
trying again. i can move now. taking a look at this planter. cool. probably more polys than strictly necessary but fine
ugly as fuck, same as it ever was. shoutout to the helpful DM. did they ever make shader mods for this thing? give it the ol skyrim treatment
checking out some premade avatars in the Vampires tab, which is one of the default tabs along with normal, Fantasy, and Classic
sorry i got bored and closed the app
SL is cool if you put the time into learning the ropes and the good places to go and finding people you actually want to hang with, but it has a full team thats been working on it for decades and this is what people get when they ask for user generated 3d virtual worlds. so
i mean people have been WORKING on this thing continually and with their whole hearts for years and years. if you want to do 3d virtual worlds with friends, it is free and its already much better than metaverse shit. you can check it out on your own

ok heres the 100% factual from the salt mines of research truth: for 99% of people it is functionally impossible to lose weight once you have gained it unless you can commit to eating an uncomfortably low caloric intake for the rest of your life without ever slipping up
item 2 is that exercise contributes little or nothing to weight loss. it contributes significantly to lowering mortality, illness and injury (except when it doesnt, or has significant negative effects, for example in some ME-CFS patients) so you should do it anyway
item 3 is that the body mass index of lab animals kept in entirely controlled environments for, at this point, thousands of generations, has been increasing steadily since we started measuring it. we're not sure about this one but the primary suspect rn is microplastics
"but getty is a remorseful heiress she wants to make up for her family's crimes" has she sent you $200? me neither
heres a goofy but basically plausible galaxy brain take if you really need one: do you know who benefits directly when valuable works of art are damaged? people who own other works of art as investment in a market where scarcity = appreciating value. i just made that up. its easy
found a Ziosk z500 POS tablet in a dumpster. how do i make it play doom
ive literally never heard of this thing apparently they are in every casual dining chain restaurant at this point and EVERYONE hates them. they have games on them with microtransactions???
here's a fascinating document i discovered by accident yesterday. it's a case report written by an autistic redditor, with all the expected writing mannerisms such status imparts, of what happened after he was given an oxytocin nasal spray prescription. archive.is/UgNfp
he describes subjective effects like wanting to stop posting and go stare at his wife, speaking at normal volume, & suddenly making vocalizations during sex for the first time, which he assumed was something neurotypicals had just seen in porn and imitated
another thing he describes is being able to look at his son, who is also autistic, and suddenly perceive how normal people have been perceiving himself his entire life.
