The vaccine has already been received by millions of children in this age group across the world.
As of December 22, 2021, the CDC recorded 6.1 million US children ages 5-11 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. aap.org/en/pages/2019-…

Kids aged 2 to school year 6 had the highest infection rate among all age groups (latest ONS data). With the UK Omicron wave & schools opening next week with minimal covid mitigations again, why are parents/carers not given the choice to give this vaccine to their children?

An additional note about covid hospital admissions in kids: they are not negligible.
Between 25 November - 25 December in England, there were a total of 24,424 admissions, out of which 1,474 were children (6%).
Primary schools in England are opening tomorrow with no mask recommendation, no adequate ventilation measures and no vaccine offer for all 5-11 year olds in the context of 1.1 million confirmed covid cases during the last 7 days in the UK. #CountLongCovid
