I read 70 books in 2021.

Here are my top 10 favorite ones:

(thread)
Intro:

I read a lot of incredible books this year so don't let this list take anything away from the ones that didn't make the cut.

This list is based on the books that had the biggest impact on me personally and is in no particular order.

Let's begin!
"Beyond Order" by @jordanbpeterson

JBP's second book is as amazing as his first.

He combines psychology, philosophy, history, and religion to share 12 more lessons that will transform your life.

If you want to move towards the potential of who you could be, read this book.
Key lesson:

"You need to know where you were, so that you do not repeat the mistakes of the past. You need to know where you are, or you will not be able to draw a line from your starting point to your destination."
"The Daily Stoic" by @RyanHoliday

The best advice is often timeless and this book proves that.

It's filled with 365 pieces of wisdom from people who lived 2,000+ years ago.

The best part?

You can read it one page a day so it will help you develop a daily reading habit.
Key lesson:

"Anger is not impressive or tough–it's a mistake. It's weakness...Strength is the ability to maintain a hold of oneself."
"How To Not Die Alone" by @loganury

Logan is a behavioral scientist who spent years researching dating & relationships.

In her book, she shares science-backed advice on how to find love in the modern dating world.

If you're dating online or on apps, this book is a must-read.
Key lesson:

"No relationship is easy all the time. Even the healthiest, most rewarding marriages require effort. Finding someone can be hard, but often the real challenge comes later."
"The Dip" by @ThisIsSethsBlog

A key to success is knowing when to quit.

You don't want to keep working on a project or company that's going nowhere.

This book will teach you when to quit and how to do it without feeling guilty.

A must-read for all creatives.
Key lesson:

"It's okay to quit, sometimes...You should quit if you're on a dead-end path...Quitting the projects that don't go anywhere is essential if you want to stick out the right ones."
"Lying" by @SamHarrisOrg

We all know lying is bad, yet we still do it.

This book will convince you to lie as little as possible.

Why?

Every lie is harmful, even white ones.

If you want to become a more honest and authentic version of yourself, read this book.
Key lesson:

"By lying to one person, we potentially spread falsehoods to many others–even to whole societies...In this way, every lie haunts our future."
"The Strangest Secret" by Earl Nightdale

Your mind can be your greatest asset or your biggest enemy.

This book will teach you how to develop a positive mindset that works for you instead of against you.

It's a short book but has the power to change your life.
Key lesson:

"Each of us must live off the fruit of his thoughts in the future, because what you think today and tomorrow, next month and next year, will mold your life and determine your future. You're guided by your mind."
"Ikigai" by Francesc Miralles & Hector Garcia

The authors studied the habits and diets of centurions (people who live to 100-years old) to discover their secrets to living a long and happy life.

If you value your health or are interested in longevity, this book is for you.
"Attached" by Amir Levine & Rachel Heller

Why do certain people avoid intimacy while others crave it more than anything?

It has to do with your attachment style.

Knowing your attachment style will massively improve your dating life & help you build a lasting relationship.
Key lesson:

"Secure people feel comfortable with intimacy...Anxious people crave intimacy...Avoidant people equate intimacy with a loss of independence."
"How To Talk To Anyone" by @Leil_Lowndes

This book is filled with 92 helpful tips to become more social and likable.

Think of it as a sequel to Dale Carnegie's classic book "How To Win Friends & Influence People."

If you want to improve your people skills, grab a copy asap.
Key lesson:

"Never let the phrase 'thank you' stand alone. From A to Z, always follow it with for: from 'Thank you for asking' to 'Thank you for zipping me up."
"Come As You Are" by @emilynagoski

Let's be honest, sex-ed in high school was a joke.

It taught us nothing about having a happy & healthy sex life.

This book will change that.

It provides a ton of science-backed advice on how to have a wonderful & lasting sex life.
Key lesson:

"Those who reported that they had good sex lives, he writes, consistently mentioned: (1) maintaining a close, connected, and trusting friendship; and (2) making sex a priority in their lives."
That's it for now!

Over the past few months I've been fortunate to meet 50+ amazing authors.

This includes NYT bestsellers, authors who've sold 1+ million books, and authors who've made millions of dollars from their books.

Here are 10 key lessons I've learned from them: Image

1) The BEST Way To Sell Books Changes Every 10 Years

In the 2000s, it was newspapers and magazines.

In 2010s, it was popular blogs and TV shows.

In 2020s, it's podcasts and social media.

Now it's TikTok shop and newsletters.
2) Test EVERYTHING

Writing a bestseller isn't luck, it's calculated.

James Clear tested 300 (!) different book covers for "Atomic Habits".

Take the time to test the title, subtitle, and cover with FB ads or Pickfu.

A small change can help sell 10x or 100x more books.

Here are 10 key lessons from their book: Image
1) It does you no good to be the "world's best-kept secret."

In order for someone to do business with you, they first have to know about you. Image
2) The goal of a personal brand is to simply find your uniqueness and exploit it in the service of others. Image
