Just some of my highlights of the people & accounts that in PY2 (Pandemic Year 2) have informed & educated, made me laugh & (good) cry & made this 'scrolling hellsite' bearable

@trishgreenhalgh for relentless pursuit of evidence-based masking in the face of persistent trolling

@chrischirp for communicating clever stuff about C19 in a really accessible way

@devisridhar for remaining assured & balanced when explaining govt policy & for being positive on social media

@dgurdasani1 for all the above, also in the face of unjust criticism for talking science

@jburnmurdoch for his graphs that have consistently and (again) accessibly shown the difference between Covid & other airborne diseases & what is likely to happen next

(BIG) TEAM:

All the orgs, teams, depts & units in our #NHS who are still dealing with Covid, trying to maintain services & catch up on delays & doing it even for those who are making it harder every day for them

No idea how @stand_for_all @ZoeJardiniere keep calmly putting across the facts & evidence on migration, asylum & refugees, but their work cuts through all the nonsense elsewhere

INSPIRATION, another joint award here:

the late @DrNadiaChaudhri for how she lived at an unimaginable time

@charliersmith1 for her raw honesty about mental health (& fundraising for @MindCharity)

PODCAST:

On the surface about film, but really about the best of friendships @wittertainment - never fails to make me laugh

TV:

#WhenTheDustSettles @Channel4 because it beautifully & tragically brought together themes of love, hate, loss, family that are eternal

FILM:

#Parasite which I caught up with in June & proves that the one-inch barrier of subtitles can't get in the way of great film-making.

BOOK:

#NeverFarFromNowhere by #AndreaLevy, written in 1996 but as relevant today as when it was set in the 1970s & 80s
