Since Covid cases are on rise again in Delhi, I thought of reminding people of Kejriwal's failures in planning & facilitating oxygen to the hospitals in Delhi followed by his usual politics of blaming Central govt while people kept dying of oxygen crisis. (2/n)
During oxygen crisis in April, #ArvindKejriwal govt said it continues to face oxygen shortage because of βINADEQUATE allocation and SUPPLY by the central governmentβ. Not entirely wrong, there was shortage! (3/n)
What he doesn't tell people is the full truth i.e. After the supply was provisioned, #ArvindKejriwal govt had no plan to manage LOGISTICS and ALLOCATION to the hospitals inside Delhi. (4/n)
So he continued to held his ground of blaming center.
π‘πΌππ²: Like no one can defeat BJP when it comes to dividing people on religious lines, similarly this man has chosen a ground of blaming others.
You either wait for "Hindu Rashra" or "Wait for Corruption free India" (5/n)
Note: there was issue with supply chain BUT crisis was not one of demand-supply alone.
From SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT to DISTRIBUTION within Delhi to BETTER PREPARATION to robust INFORMATION EXCHANGE with citizens, Delhi government FAILED HERE to manage the crisis better (6/n).
Bigger problem recognized then was -the lack of cryogenic tankers which became worse because #ArvindKejriwal govt woke up to this need only from mid-April. (NOTE it has full January and February to prepare but it waited till situation got worse) (7/n)
By then, most of the tankers available with transporters in north India were booked by other states. #ArvindKejriwal kept its focus on demanding extra allocation from the Centre without giving much thought about the transportation. (8/n)
So then came the time to play ANNOUNCEMENT STUNT -
Delhi governmentβs announcement of procuring 18 cryogenic tankers from Bangkok was also a non-starter due to βtechnical and administrative issuesβ. (9/n)
Since the first STUNT failed, it was time to play TUSSLE & BLAME GAME STUNT while people struggled for OXYGEN.
"The high court had said it is the Central governmentβs responsibility to ensure oxygen reaches Delhiβs borders.β
Note, the court said β Delhi borders. (10/n)
To play TUSSLE & BLAME GAME STUNT-
"A central government official said the railways were ready with rakes for several days, but the Delhi administration could not arrange for tankers to lift the oxygen".(11/n)
What about "DISTRIBUTION NETWORK INSIDE DELHI" whose responsibility was it? It was #ArvindKejriwal
Delhi had no daily hospital-wise allocation plan for oxygen till very late. (12/n)
While hospitals started sending SOS to the government from April 18, it was only on April 22 that the administration set up a helpline number. (13/n)
Delhi did not have a verified central helpline number for people to meet their oxygen requirement or get admitted to hospitals.(14/n)
#Kejiwal govt had not spread awareness about phone number or addresses of the 14 oxygen cylinder refillers in the city, and most people were managing their individual demands through crowdsourcing on social media or by word of mouth.(15/n)
One case of Uma Tyagi, whose 48-year old husband died of Covid-19, said her son and daughter waited outside two separate refillers for eight hours to get one cylinder. βMy son was turned away because he did not have the documents. Nobody told us what papers were required."(16/n)
Former head of clinical virology at Christian Medical College, Vellore, said even if the central government failed to install PSA oxygen plants within the past 1 year, (17/n)
Nothing stopped the Delhi government from being proactive and getting things done on its own during the entire run of the pandemic. The Delhi government has 11 hospitals under it, and the Centre is installing PSA oxygen plants in seven of them (18/n)
This report was published by Hindustan times exposing Kejriwal's good governance. After this report, #ArvindKejriwal 's AAP party expelled seven reporters of the paper from a Whatsapp group after one of them reported critically on its handling of the oxygen crisis(19/n)
First thought that comes to my mind is "Foundation of AAPβ. Isnβt the placement of Kejriwal strategically planned and well thought of? Thinking who benefited from it the most (2/n)
Wasnβt it designed as an alternate to secular and liberal vote bank against Congress which BJP knew it would not be able to appeal? (3/n)
In a Press conference in February 2014, Kejriwal spoke of βdecisive battleβ that he was going to fight for the people of this country: βThe battle against corruption.βπͺ
Kejriwal alleged that the "central government" and "Reliance Industries Limited" had colluded to create an artificial scarcity of natural gas produced in the Krishna Godavari gas basin, thereby increasing its price across the country.π±
