The former Senate majority leader, who died this week at 82, was a forward-thinking political strategist who played to win. vox.com/18165142/harry… via @voxdotcom
Reid's policy decisions had huge repercussions.

But NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, will be as long lived as the three people pictured here...who would not be on the Supreme Court if not for Reid. He set in motion the events that guaranteed Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett. Image
Liberals delude themselves on this. It is HIGHLY questionable whether McConnell could have kept his caucus together to oppose Garland after Scalia's passing if not for fact that Obama and Reid had just recently nuked the judicial filibuster.

He got MCCAIN to go along. Imagine.
McCain had supported every single judge that came through his entire career. But he was PISSED Reid broke his promise from the previous judicial filibuster deal, under George W. Bush.

Its convenient now to forget that McCain was the key figure, and the Dems ostracized him.
All of this isn't a personal indictment of Reid. It simply IS. These are facts that lot of people want to ignore.

You can still applaud or attack him as you see fit. But policy wise, the Supreme Court would not be where it is today if not for Harry Reid.

Liberals still can't accept one simple fact: The massive school closures in the United States are an INTERNATIONAL OUTLIER.

Europe. Asia. Elsewhere. They close EVERYTHING before they close schools...because they value their kids.

Here in America...we close schools first.
EU and WHO experts have repeatedly done EVERYTHING to prevent school closures.

Here in the US, we are still closing schools at the drop of a hat.

Simply put...they value their kids more than we do.

Hell...Europe closed schools far less than we did...and they are still upset about how much damage they did!

We...are still making the same mistakes, harming our kids.

Exactly. So:
1. Vax.
2. Personally decide what safety/mitigation measures would make you feel safe.
3. Vax.
4. If you feel sick, get tested, consider therapeutics quickly.
5. Get vaxxed.
6. Get vaxxed.
7. Get vaxxed.
This is right. Vaxxed or unvaxxed, we are all in this boat together. I want people to get vaccinated, surely.

But also...almost 10% of the public can't get the vaccine. We are never going to get over 90%...meaning 1/10 will remain unvaxxed.

We need to get on with our lives, protect the vulnerable as much as we can, but also realize that there is a cost with every measure we take, and some of those costs are extremely high...and not just in dollars and cents.

It's there a modern comparison?

Not in lifetime.
"Biden could have fulfilled the promises that he made during his campaign and set himself and his party up for a successful 2022. He could have ignored the hollow passions of Twitter and cable...and delivered the quiet, limited, competent leadership that he promised..."
"Instead? Well, instead he did precisely none of that. Instead, he ignored all evidence to the contrary and concluded that he was a world-historical figure. Instead, he began talking about “transforming” the country."

We really need to have a societal change on how we confront mental illness. This kid needed help.
detroitnews.com/story/news/loc… via @detroitnews
We can talk about 'gun control' all you want. But there are many people across the societal spectrum suffering from severe mental disease, and we are failing them.
- School shootings
- Drug epidemic
- Suicide epidemic
- Homelessness

All of these are PRIMARILY issues of psychiatric illness. They are all the same problem, and we keep trying to solve them in different ways.

WE ARE FAILING PEOPLE.

Every single media outlet that reports this story like this is INTENTIONALLY LYING TO YOU.

I don't know how else to say it.
I mean...here are THE FACTS.

floridapolitics.com/archives/47719…
"DeSantis wants to resurrect Florida State Guard, a WWII force disbanded in the late 1940s. Unlike the Florida National Guard, the FSG would answer solely to the Governor. No federal deployments. No federal missions. No federal dollars."

DeSantis wants about 200 members.
