1) Attend graduate school fairs/seminars.
2) Fill a waiver form (if available on the website) & demonstrate need
3) Your prospective advisor, you could provide waiver with/without asking, especially if you’re really wanted
4) Contact & ask the program coordinator. Waivers may be available to students in a certain income bracket, particular demographic, or underrepresented group.
5) Early application within a stipulated time frame might attract waiver. Look out for such information on the
program/grad school’s website.
6) If you’ve participated in certain programs in the past, you might be eligible. E.g. AIMS grads. can get a waiver at Cornell University.
