Kazakhstan's Pres Tokayev has declared a 2 week state of emergency in Almaty and in western Mangistau as protesters came out in large numbers to protest fuel prices. Roads are closed, military deployed and firing tear gas, stun grenades, internet disrupted
Besides Russia obsessively covering these protests propagandists started circulating assurances and a map that the Russian population in the north does not support these protests and is calm dialog.ua/opinion/243631…
More protests in Shymkent
Tokayev plans to announce the resignation of the government in the morning. Will be interesting to see whether protesters care inbusiness.kz/ru/last/tokaev…

Another Russian special flight squadron TU-2014 is heading to Kazakhstan. Possibly to evacuate officials. Also Tokayev warned of a tough response to protesters
These protests started because over fuel prices. Russia is calling them riots meanwhile Nazarbayev's son in law, Kulibayev, who sits in Gazprom’s board is known as the oil king. How kleptocracy affects regular people struggling to get by. Also internet outages have been reported

“He [Klyushin] constantly said that ex-employees of FAPSI, GRU and scientific companies were working for him. Klyushin told this at presentations and forums in which he took part. They say that our employees are not ordinary employees" according to Russia's DailyStorm outlet

This is so fascinating because the Kremlin is still very quiet about his arrest despite his access. He is very close to Defense minister Shoigu and Deputy Head of Presidential admin Gromov. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
This was the initial info on the arrest that came out in June despite him being arrested in March. It is so interesting watching the bizarre silence from the Kremlin
Klyushin is also known in Russia for his social media monitoring system that is used by both the Kremlin and Defense Ministry. Not exactly someone insignificant for Russia to be so quiet for almost a year

Putin shut down Memorial human rights group who have been documenting decades of atrocities during the Soviet Union. This is part of the Kremlin’s systemic rewriting of history that has been ongoing for several years. Meanwhile Putin continues to rehabilitate mass murderer Stalin
Putin has been rewriting events and putting laws into place punishing those who discuss real version of events. This has been happening for awhile so as outraged as I am that Memorial was shut down I’m not shocked after watching all the measures being put into place for years
Another law that was in the works this year. This is also another reason Putin has been preparing to take Russia off the internet for several years and now harassing US tech companies

Ugh! Russia‘a defense minister Shoigu said US mercenaries are “preparing” a chemical attack in Eastern Ukraine. Every single time the Kremlin has warned of a impending chemical attack in Syria by opposition and US one has followed by Assad and Russia. ria.ru/20211221/ukrai…
The Kremlin continues using the same exact tactics wherever they operate.
Meanwhile Putin gave an unhinged speech gaslighting about US preparations to arm militants and send them off to Russia. Putin is today’s Hitler and the consequences of appeasement by US/Europe have led to one of the most dangerous situations on European soil.

When citing/dealing with Carnegie do people not understand that Dmitri Trenin was a GRU colonel and runs a think tank for over a decade that is a mouthpiece of the Kremlin. Carnegie “may” have started out independent but that changed awhile ago.
The reason I saw may is because FSB infiltrated everything including Yeltsin’s team and democratic parties. There may have been an intention to have free thinking centers but that quickly changed as FSB gained strength towards the end of the 90s.
Putin himself was sent by FSB to infiltrate the Mayor Sobchak’s office in Leningrad who held the first democratic style election. And Putin was seen in a few photos lingering around Yeltsin in the background
