🧵 Reflecting on the insane growth of #NFTs in 2021 it's fascinating how the most popular PFP projects such as #cryptopunks @BoredApeYC @RTFKTstudios etc only draw comparisons to one another but never to yield generating NFT games like @Sorare ⚽️

1/11
With the NFT market being in it's infancy it's clear to me that there is room for all of these projects and so many more to thrive.

But, with more and more to discover every day in this newly created metaverse, what type of games/projects will new users gravitate towards?

2/11
Now whilst I'm not a disbeliever, I find it harder each month to consider entering new NFT projects that don't offer any prospect of yield.

Conversely, I know this to be true of PFP owners who rarely convert to games like Sorare despite the utility they offer.

Why so?

3/11
Do we get too attached to the first communities we join and the influencers we follow❓

Do we convince ourselves nothing else can be as successful as what we know and own❓

Do we have too much wealth allocated in one project so that we can't diversify even if we want to❓

4/11
Let's take an example today and say a #cryptopunk and a #BoredApe are valued at 100 ETH each.

If you have 100 ETH tied up in one of these, I'd like to hope you also have at least 20-50 ETH ready to put into something else? (although it seems most people don't)

5/11
Whether you do or don't, I'm curious to learn why there seems to be such a divide between those who opt solely to get involved in PFP projects vs those that prefer to seek out yield generating NFTs.

Is there really no middle ground❓

6/11
At what point (assuming is one) do NFTs with provable utility value such as #Sorare cards come into consideration for PFP owners❓

e.g. This Salah Unique cost 18 ETH, can be used twice a week in free-to-play tournaments and has helped yield over 54 ETH in prizes in 2021.

7/11
⚽️ Sorare elevator pitch:

Collect and play with global stars such as Messi, Haaland, Mbappe, Lewandowski and Salah then compete against them!

Griezmann, Pique, Hummels, Werner, Haller and many more all play competitively 🤯

Annual @Sorare update:

8/11
Is it the skill element or thought of having to compete in order to generate a return that is off-putting❓

Is it a lack of excitement or interest in digital sports IP❓

Is it just a lack of awareness that these opportunities co-exist alongside hyped PFP projects❓

9/11
Whichever it may be, hats off to those carrying multiple punks/apes. It would be great to see these have another successful year in 2022.

I'm open to a pitch if someone wants to try sell me one, but until then I'll be sticking with my #Sorare collection to focus on yield!

10/11
DM's are open to anyone from the PFP world serious about tapping into the yield potential of #Sorare

🏆 Sorare Tournament Yield
🥇 2020: 278 ETH
🥇 2021: 373 ETH
🥇 2022: 11.1 ETH
*Trading gains not included

Good luck to all PFP and Utility #NFT lovers this year!
