Last week Haissender Souza de Paulo was found confused,wandering the streets of Gov. Valadares, MG. On Tuesday he started vomiting blood. Yesterday his lifeless body was found on a family farm. He was a witness in the newly reopened investigation on the 2018 Bolsonaro stabbing.+
De Paulo was a henchman of Congressman Marcelo Álvaro Antônio (PSL), Pres. Bolsonaro's first Tourism Minister, who was fired in September, 2020 over a scandal involving skimming federal campaign funds for local candidates and rerouting them into Bolsonaro's presidential campaign
In June, 2019, Haissander, who was 31 and working an aid to Tourism Minister Marcelo Alvaro at the time, was arrested arrested and by the Federal Police and briefly jailed in the campaign funds skimming scandal - possibly as a patsy for his boss.
Together, Alvaro and aid Haissander coordinated Bolsonaro's Sept 6. campaign visit to Juiz de Fora, MG, where an extremely suspicious stabbing event took place that was manipulated to remove him from the presidential debates and portray him as a martyr to "communist terrorists".
In 2021, veteran Brazilian journalist Joaquim de Carvalho's documentary, "Bolsonaro e Adélio - uma fakeada no coração do Brasil" exposed inconsistencies in the Bolsonaro stabbing narrative. On Nov. 26, the Federal Police reopened the investigation. brasilwire.com/bombastic-docu…
On December 29th, the Federal Police transferred the director of the first investigation into the Bolsonaro stabbing, Rodrigo Morais Fernandes, to the United States. He is now working with Homeland Security in New York. poder360.com.br/justica/pf-man…
Yesterday the Federal Police appointed Agent Martin Bottaro Purper to direct the new investigation. Purper, 43, is a 17 year veteran of the force known for his investigations against the PCC - the crime group that supplies Europe with most of its cocaine.
The day Haissander was found wandering,confused and not remembering his own name, 180 KM from his home town of Aimores, MG, local residents posted this notice on social media, asking if anyone recognized him.
Although it's possible he died of natural causes while the Federal Police were moving forwards on the Bolsonaro stabbing investigation in which he was a key witness, some people wonder if he was poisoned for damage control - "burning files" as they say in Brazil. RIP Haissander.
