There is a lot I actually like here, @ZekeEmanuel, but a few concerns.

But first and foremost, thank you for your continued push for N95's for all. Ari Melber, etc...I hear you all the time.

I just wished @JeffreyZients would hear you.

With that said, why the rush to
establish a new normal?

With hospitals literally stacking gasping bodies in ER hallways throughout America, today?

You talk of establishing trust in public health again, do you realize what a dagger to the heart it is for those who are immunocompromised to see no discussion
of that?

And then to discuss CoVid as a respiratory disease? To lump it in with the flu?

Pull that dagger out, and stick it back in.

CoVid, as you know, should never be lumped in with the rest. Ever.

It is an airborne blood vasculature AND blood disease.

(The latter
from the recent findings of megakaryocytes throughout the body resulting in microclots).

If CoVid is to be a part of a new normal, I wish someone would have the spine to say ....
There will be collateral loss of life from the immunocompromised (5-10% of society, those with inelastic immune systems (elderly), and babies - deal with it.

Because any discussion of new normal without discussing those is to engage in eugenics - without having the stomachs to
talk about it.

Well? I'm here, @ZekeEmanuel.

Just a immunocompromised guy standing before a doctor.

Whom I respect immensely.

How many of me are acceptable for you to die for society to return to normal?

Or, shall we roll up our sleeves, and
call out @JeffreyZients @CDCDirector @benwakana46 for not doing the tough things.

Not tracking longCoVid cases.

Not rolling out N100's elastomeric respirators to all (only 10 billion versus N95's - 73 billion).

Not getting rapid tests everywhere.

For their RIDICULOUS
5 day isolation period.

"He died of CoVid."

'Oh, how fat was he ?'

Replace fat with diabetes, asthma, cancer, old....

We all know the list. And we all know why.

To minimize CoVid.

To deny.

To lie.
The GBD are happy.

The bluechecks have begun beating the drum to differentiate between with hospitalized "with CoVid" and "for CoVid."

To minimize. To lie.

While our people die.

They are playing CoVid's song.
This is not to say Dr. Spencer is doing this.

Other people are.

And to those bluechecks, we need to point out....

If the sick didn't have CoVid, would they be in the hospital?

No.

And based on his experience, it seems that Omicron is really, really making that point.

A quick thread on why elastomeric respirators are better than N95's.

In short? Like N95/N99 disposables are better than surgical/cloth masks?

Primarily, fit. Not that fit 👇👇.

How it fits to your face.

For a number of different reasons that may surprise you.
First off, getting the respirator to actually fit to your face.

Not all facial geometries are the same.

The Fit Test Panels used to evaluate fit, I submit, do not have enough women or Asians.

So, no surprise that with N95 disposables that 👇👇

In line at Walgreens to pick up a prescription.

People coughing. A lot. Checking to see if they have Rapid Antigen Tests (they don't).

And this pharmacy is short-handed...haven't picked up their phone in 3 days. Image
BTW - @Walgreens? Might want to offer rapid tests only from the drive-through window or curb-side.
Which shows yet another problem with letting it rip through society.

People are out sick.

Making lines longer. Making people breathe in more of other people's lung contents.

Garlic. Stale coffee.

CoVid.

Meanwhile, I actually am pretty damn cheerful.

Guess why? Image
