In 1923, an anonymous book called "Rangeela Rasool" was published & distributed widely. It made fun of Islam & raised a storm in d country. Gandhi wrote a savage article in Young India attacking d author. As d publisher was known, pressure was put on him to disclose d name of 👇

d author. But d publisher refused.The case went on for 4 yrs & in d end the publisher was released saying he had used his freedom of expression. Gandhi wrote another article in Young India saying if the judiciary has failed muslims,they shud seek redressal at d community level.👇

This was an open invitation to Muslims to take d law in their hands & indulge in violence. Sure enough, 3 attempts were made on d publisher's life & he was butchered in the 3rd attempt. Rangeela Rasool was in response to 3 anonymous books distributed widely by Ms in mosques.👇

Calcutta, historically, an imperial city with deep water ports like Kidderpore Docks & a navigable river, was the industrial & business capital of the Asia Pacific region, several times the size of Hong Kong & Singapore. Asia’s largest companies & banks were headquartered here👇

Lyons Range hosted d stock exchange & the offices of leading insurance companies. The entire area of Dalhousie & Fairley Place contained the stalwarts of Indian business with names like Martin Burn, Andrew Yule, Bird & Company, Garden Reach, Jessops, Murphy Radio & several 👇

businesses across the spectrum from ship building to mining. The tragedy is not that all of this was subsequently destroyed , the tragedy is that it can never be rebuilt.& that's what happened to Calcutta since the 1970s, particularly under Jyoti Basu, Bengal’s erstwhile CM 👇

moles in Pakistan in exchange for d complete blueprint of their nukleer project, which could then be used by India to its advantage. But to the utter surprise Morarji Desai rebuked them for "poking their nose unnecessarily into other countries" & ordered them to follow Gandhian👇

but the party called it a reaction to a huge tree falling & refused any legal action comes to power with a huge thumping majority of 404 seats in d Parliament.
3. This is the Country where a few lakh Kashmiri Pundits but the Govt that allowed these was voted back to power.👇

4.This is the Country where 1000s got killed in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts yet the Congress returned to power.
5. This is the Country where the Govt of Atal Behari Vajpayee was voted out of power for the rise in the prices of onions.👇
