Ron Johnson has spent years in the Senate looking out for himself at the expense of Wisconsinites and failing to do the job he was elected to do, and it’s time to face the consequences.
Official statement from me/@WisDems, with receipts.

My quote in NYT: “He’s an active menace to American democracy, a threat to public health and an economic saboteur of the middle class. His sole redeeming quality in public life is that in 2022, he’s going to inspire Democrats to organize and turn out.” nytimes.com/2022/01/09/us/…
Johnson constantly makes headlines for his lies, his 1/6 cover-ups, his anti-vax propaganda. One thing that fewer voters know about—but become infuriated when they hear about it: his giant tax giveaways to himself and his friends. Spread the word.
This subhed is correct: "November race could help determine control of the Senate, currently split 50-50" wsj.com/articles/ron-j…

BREAKING: RON JOHNSON JUST ANNOUNCED HE’S RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION. He’s the worst senator up in ‘22—AND the most vulnerable. We can defeat him. Chip in any amount and let’s end Ron Johson’s political career for good. secure.actblue.com/donate/ronjohn…
Ron Johnson is, infamously, @TheWorstSenator. (If you question that distinction, click through to that account.) He burst into a new level of national prominence & loathing after 1/6, when he fed the insurrection—then denied it was an insurrection at all.
And we can’t forget how Johnson scammed every American by giving massive tax breaks to his biggest donors and himself—while, by the way, paying virtually nothing in state income taxes in 2017, and opposing tax breaks for the middle class. apnews.com/article/busine…
The insurrectionists attacked America on 1/6 by storming the Capitol. The most critical front in defending America in 2022 may just be Wisconsin.
Quick thread.
Republican radical Rebecca Kleefisch, running for WI governor this year, refuses to comment on whether she'd sign laws allowing the legislature to overturn presidential election results.
She aims to achieve the insurrectionists' goals, by other means.
Senator Ron Johnson, up this November, helped fuel the 1/6 attacks on America by pushing Big Lie rhetoric—and then immediately downplayed the attack and began pushing conspiracy theories about it.
IT’S THE FINAL DAY OF 2021. We’re closing in on our goal of 200 new recurring monthly donors by midnight TONIGHT. Why do we need support? Because we’re fighting for democracy on five fronts. Click to chip in, and read on for the final two in our countdown: secure.actblue.com/donate/eo21?re…
We’ve talked about Robin Vos and the shamtacular Michael Gableman investigation. We’ve talked about Mike Gallagher, Derrick Van Orden, and GOP members of Congress. We’ve talked about (yikes) Ron Johnson. Now it’s time for #2: Wisconsin’s Supreme Court and Partisan Gerrymandering.
Wisconsin’s Supreme Court is officially nonpartisan. The reality, though, is that it’s a 4-3 conservative-majority body that is, at this very moment, working to lock in Republican control of Wisconsin’s state legislature for the next decade.
Ron Johnson is, as America now knows and loathes, a general-purpose disinformation machine—pushing everything from lethal anti-vax misconceptions and wildly untrue Jan 6 conspiracy theories. nytimes.com/2021/03/21/us/…
The thing that makes him a clear and present threat to democracy, though, isn’t just the lies he pushes—it’s the actions he urges people to take on the basis of those lies. Such as his vocal opposition to certifying Biden’s Electoral College votes. jsonline.com/story/news/pol…
Republicans are gunning to take over the House next year. They don’t have to win many seats to do it. The ghastly thing is that we can see, based on what they’ve done this last year, how they’d use that power if they got it.
Trump is on a glide path to winning the Republican nomination in 2024. You might think that Congressional Republicans who vocally denounced the violence on January 6, like Mike Gallagher, would stand ready to prevent Trump from doing even worse damage. Nope!
COUNTDOWN: In 2022, the fate of American democracy hinges on one critical state—Wisconsin. It’s under attack. You can save it. This thread maps the top 5 threats. Help us hit our goal of 200 new monthly donors before the new year—share & chip in! secure.actblue.com/donate/eo21?re…
Before the countdown begins, as the drum roll ramps up in the background—WHY does it all hang on Wisconsin? How is it even possible that a state of 5.8 million shapes the destiny of a country of 332 million? It’s a ridiculous situation, but it’s real.
The presidency of the United States is won not by majority, but by Electoral College. Add up the states Trump won in 2020. He was three states short of victory. The 3 closest: AZ, GA, and WI.
