Kaeya Alberich was a bright young man. Charming, smart, a perfect student that made every boy and girl in class fall for him with just a single smile. However, somehow that young man didn’t take any interest in them but followed him around like a lost puppy.

The first time they met, Diluc didn’t deny that his heart skipped a beat just by looking straight in that blue star pupil along with a mysterious white eyepatch. The redhead didn’t know why the tanned man’s face immediately lit up when seeing him but after that,

Kaeya had crossed paths with him a lot of times in school. He would usually appear in the hall to carry a bunch of paperwork for him without Diluc even asking, always found his secret corner at lunchtime and ate together,

spent more time after school to hang out with his friends while sneaking glances at the teacher whenever he thought the other didn’t notice. He tried not to think too much about it, yet the way Kaeya’s hand gentle tucked his hair behind his ears,

slyly slid his fingers along Diluc’s chin like scratching a little kitten sometimes made him weak in the knees. His ears would faintly hear the tanned man’s deep voice called his name while giving the redhead a bright smile under the heated sun through the windows

in each P.E class, and the teacher couldn’t help but unconsciously wave back and chuckle lightly when imagine a puppy’s tail wagging excitedly behind his back.

It was hard to ignore all those affections and see them as some elated feelings of youth, yet Diluc knew just by looking into Kaeya’s eye that he was serious. He tried to keep quiet and pretend he didn’t notice the signs, but it seemed his student had another plan.

It was a peaceful day after school that the tanned young man decided to stay behind with his favorite teacher in their classroom while the other focused on grading the tests. When he was done with the last paper, Diluc gently massaged his temples then sent Kaeya a scowl.

“You know, you didn’t need to do all these kinds of things just to flatter me, Alberich. You have done a good job in class and I’m not the partial type of teacher who will fix students’ scores if they try to catch my attention either.”

“Oh, Mr. Ragvindr, you wound me. Do I really look like those ‘teacher pets’ to you?” The tanned man placed a hand on his chest dramatically that made Diluc roll his eyes.
“Not gonna lie. Yes.” The student felt like an arrow just shot through his heart, almost choked on his spit.

“Well, I am not."
Clearing his throat, the man once again looked at his teacher with determined eyes and everything around them suddenly fell silent except the strong wind carried some autumn leaves along with it.

“I do those things because I want to take care of the one I love. Isn’t it obvious?”
Diluc’s eyes widened from the bluntness of the man and felt his cheeks go red from embarrassment.

Kaeya would have kissed his gasping mouth if he didn’t know the teacher may become panicked with the sudden affection.
“Don’t say silly things like that, Alberich. You know we’re both males, moreover, we’re teacher and student. Maybe you just misunderstand admiration and love.”

The redhead fixed his glasses then turned away, tried to rearrange his thought but a tanned hand suddenly gripped his chin and turned him back to look straight at Kaeya.
“I don’t."

"I did think of the day I confessed to you when I was in grade 10 as silly, yet two years have passed and my feeling doesn’t disappear, just getting stronger and stronger every day. It started with innocent thoughts such as holding your hands or kissing your soft lips,

but then I have to wake up every day after dreaming of bending you against my table, hearing your moan while filling you up with my seeds. Your teary face, your smiles, your beautiful red hair, and many more, I dreamt of them-

and for the first time in my life, I want to be selfish, I want to keep all of them to myself.”
He kept leaning in closer and closer, so close that Diluc could feel Kaeya’s breath touch his flushed ear.
“And I know you have feelings for me too.

The way you blushed every time I smile, how your fingers unconsciously touched mine then immediately withdrew shyly, how your breath hitched and your legs trembled when I whispered something playfully to you. I know it all, sir.”

Diluc whimpered when Kaeya nipped his sensitive earlobe, weakly gripped on his student’s vest while the other man’s hands moved from the wooden table to circle his waist and hugged him tightly.

He then captured the redhead’s lips, both had their eyes closed as their tongues danced around passionately. It was wrong, yet Diluc could only protest weakly when Kaeya yanked open his shirt and slipped his pants off easily before lifting him to sit on the small wooden table.

“Alberich, we shouldn’t…” The teacher tried to cover his moan as his student pulled out a bottle of lube then slowly prepared him. “Wha- Why do you bring it to school?!”
“Just in case.”

He smiled teasingly and kissed Diluc’s pale throat when he arched his head back, panting with trembling legs.
“Don’t worry sir. You’re the only one for me.”
“Ah, stop. This is wrong~”

Even if he said that, the redhead immediately clung onto Kaeya’s shoulders when the other was done preparing him and put on a condom before spreading him open.
“Hurt…Hurt…”
“Relax, Luc. You will feel better soon.”

Diluc would have scolded his idiotic student for calling his name so casually if he wasn’t trying to control his breath.“God, you’re so tight and hot, Sunshine.”
“Alberich-”
“Kaeya.” Red daze eyes looked at the other in confusion before he repeated again.

“I want to hear you call my name. Kaeya. Say it, Sunshine.”
“Kaeya…”
Hearing the man’s purr with satisfaction, Diluc placed his forehead on the other’s shoulder then continued whispering that name like chanting.
“Kaeya… Kaeya… Kaeya.”

“Yes, I’m here. I love you, Diluc.”
“Ah~ Ah~ Hah…I…I love you too.”
He really shouldn’t do these sinful things with his student, yet when being with Kaeya, feeling his hot skin along with his loud heartbeat, Diluc’s brain just melted from all the love.

“I will go study abroad after graduating.” The sudden news made Diluc feel like his heart just stopped, yet when he turned to look at the young man, there was no teasing smirk as usual.
“Well…Good for you then.”

The redhead let out a forced smile while keeping his voice in the normal tone so he wouldn’t end up crying before his student.
“It will be long, maybe two or three years.”
He knew their story would have to end soon,

it shouldn’t even existed since beginning but he kept being selfish and going along with Kaeya’s actions. It also seemed like the young man finally realized his future was more important than this silly forbidden romance with his teacher,

yet it still hurt even when Diluc had expected this. He would still smile and hope Kaeya would have a brighter future…without him in it.
“May your future be as bright as your smile. I’m proud to have you as my student, Alberich.”

“Don’t. Don’t call me that. You know what I want you to call me.” Diluc definitely didn’t expect that Kaeya would hold his hands to his cheeks while looking at him with a sad, yet hopeful expression.

“This isn’t the end. I graduated meant that we won’t be restrained by this school’s rule anymore. And I go study abroad just so I can give us a better future. That’s why promise me, please marry me when I come back.”

Two years Kaeya went abroad, they kept in contact with each other. One year later, the young man disappeared without a trace and Diluc’s hope shattered.

“You know, you don’t have to take that kid’s silly promise to your heart. You have already waited for him for four years already. It’s time to let go Diluc.” Jean sighed in annoyance while leaning on his chair.

“Just take a rest and go to our party. Lisa and I will find a better gentleman for you instead of that brat.”
“I can’t Jean. There is still a bunch of paperwork that has to be done. I don’t want to let them stack through tomorrow.”

The man took off his glasses and reached for his cup of coffee but then scowled when found it empty.
“Don’t worry, Headmaster Varka won’t scold you from an early leave when you’re the most hard-working one in this school. We will wait for you outside so hurry up, dearie.”

Lisa appeared from the door and put a hand on her lover’s waist, smiling brightly.“We won’t let you overwork tonight anymore so get done with your work soon honey~”
And that, they decided to leave and somehow, Diluc could hear their loud gasp at something and then giggles.

Maybe another colleague did something silly again and was teased by both girls. The poor guy. He did try to forget about Kaeya, yet that charming face and those half-heart promises kept finding him in his dreams and his heart kept aching dully through time like that.

“You are a liar, Kaeya…”
However, when Diluc turned his back, a bouquet was pushed right in front of his face and revealed after that was a face he thought he would never have a chance to meet again.
“Even if I was a liar, may I still have your love in the end?”

When Kaeya was sixteen, he asked for his teacher to be his boyfriend and received an angelic laugh that stole his heart.
When the young man was seventeen, he secretly admired his love from afar and thought just staying by his side was already enough.

When the tanned man was eighteen, he and his teacher kept a sinful secret from the world till they parted away for his future.
When his lover lost contact at age twenty, Diluc felt like his world had fallen apart, yet his heart still clung on hope like a fool in love.

When Kaeya reached twenty-one, he came back to fulfill a promise he had given to the one he wanted to be with for his whole life.
