1. Several years ago I wanted to learn more about the issues that appear to drive most of the conflict and strife in the world. I started with learning about the 3 monotheistic faiths.
2. I then moved on to studying racial justice issues. I read Coates, Carol Anderson, and Tim Wise among others. I felt like I had a good grasp on how to help communities of color. But then I read McWhorter and Glenn Lowry and thought – hold up.
3. I do not have an allegiance to any one of their perspectives but rather understand that if there are different perspectives in the black community (imagine that🤦♂️) how the f can I pretend to speak for them? I learned to step back and stfu and listen better.
4. There is a lack of listening on the part of nocoiners toward #Bitcoin and an ongoing "we know what is best for you" mentality. It is an outright denial of one's experience which is antithetical to any desire to actually help someone.
5. Just stfu and listen for a moment! Why do people use Bitcoin? What does it provide them? Learn to better understand what role it is playing in their lives if you actually care to create change.
6. You may have a "better solution," but is it better for you or for the people you are trying to help?
