Texas is conducting an “audit” of the 2020 election results in four counties.

To investigate, we sent public records requests to the Texas secretary of state and governor for emails and texts with pro-”audit” activists and allies of Donald Trump.

We’ve asked for their communications with some of the biggest proponents of the Big Lie, including Christina Bobb of One America News Network, Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano, and attorney John Eastman.
Documents we’ve previously obtained via public records requests and litigation have shown activists from across the country working together to push election-undermining efforts in other states. We want to know if this is also the case in Texas. americanoversight.org/from-voter-fra…

Trump supporters in seven states submitted phony electoral vote certificates to Congress as part of their effort to overturn the 2020 election results.

We know this because we obtained the fake certificates via FOIA.

The fake electoral certificates were assembled by Trump supporters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin who sought to replace valid presidential electors with bogus slates of pro-Trump electors.

The documents also show the names and signatures of the individuals who supported the effort to overturn the will of the people in their state. Most of the certificates contain no indication that they list illegitimate slates of electors not chosen by those states' voters.

It’s been 20+ months since the Trump White House scrapped a plan to send five masks to every American household.

In 2020, we obtained a draft press release from the U.S. Postal Service announcing an initiative to mail face masks to every household. The @washingtonpost determined that the Trump White House canceled the plan.

Emails we obtained also revealed that during early confusion about face coverings in spring 2020, the Trump White House omitted a line about wearing masks from postcards sent to U.S. households.

A Trump appointee at the State Department was investigated for allegedly vetting State employees for “disloyalty.”

We obtained emails written by former appointee Mari Stull that provide compelling examples of this behavior.

In 2018, Stull emailed a White House official about a candidate for a UNICEF job and made it clear she thought he should not be considered because he was not sufficiently loyal to former President Donald Trump:
“He is a long-time State Department employee - who served Hillary Clinton [redacted]. The UNICEF slot is an influential position that would be well served by a like-minded, proven supporter of the President.” Image

UPDATE: The circuit court has also denied Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos's request to stay the deposition scheduled in our open records lawsuit tomorrow, Jan. 12.

Last week, a Wisconsin judge ordered Speaker Vos to answer questions under oath about the failure to release records of the Assembly’s election investigation. On Friday, Vos yet again moved to block the deposition and sought stays from the circuit and appellate courts.
Both of those stay requests have now failed, and the deposition is still scheduled to take place on Wednesday. Despite Vos’s best attempts to avoid accountability and transparency, we expect him to answer questions.

UPDATE: Last week, Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan failed to show up for a scheduled deposition as part of our lawsuit for Arizona “audit” records.

Today, we filed an emergency motion seeking Logan’s deposition and penalties from Cyber Ninjas and Logan.

Recent events have made worse the already serious concerns that Cyber Ninjas is not preserving—and does not intend to produce—public records related to the Arizona Senate’s “audit.”
Last week, Logan told Senate President Karen Fann that Cyber Ninjas would liquidate Cyber Ninja’s assets and let go of its employees. Logan also said that the firm will “end up defaulting on the public records cases.”
