When you study the system of PMQ’s in Parliament you quickly realise it is a complete farce. It is an artificial form of enquiry that leaves no room for the person asking the question of the PM to even confirm whether they are happy or not with the response. 👇
Secondly there is no opportunity to actually probe that response by even one more follow up question. It really is a shabby excuse for democratic accountability. It is an antiquated tradition that focuses on procedure rather than real outcomes of making politicians accountable.
And accountability is as we all know supposed to be the objective of having PMQ’s in the first place. Instead it allows the PM in question to waffle or filibuster or procrastinate and even lie in response and all the MP can do in reply is nod their head in frustration and dismay.
So why do we even bother switching on the charade of PMQ’s other than for its resemblance to a toff’s soap or political comedy and the opportunity of watching the most powerful in the land displaying visible discomfort at times.
It’s pure political drama and a comedy of errors rather than a system that is actually accountable to the U.K. taxpayer. It’s a shop front advertisement by the politicians that they are seen doing their job in representing our interests. But are they.. really?
As Jack Monroe - food writer/journalist/activist described it large - we appoint them to discuss important issues such as alleviating the need for food banks and instead they prioritise spending their time at the bar and pissing our money down the mother of parliaments toilets.
Next time PMQ’s are on the telly should we grab some party food from the local supermarket and a bottle of wine and sent emails to all our friends to join us and bring a bottle to watch the biggest and most farcical soap in the country paid for by us! 🤨🙄

Ulster unionists again trying to eradicate parental choice and the outstanding achievements of faith schools especially Catholic Schools in the voluntary sector who already have made huge progress in being inclusive and promoting diversity. Political spin!
This post should be seen for what it IS not what it SAYS. It is another veiled attack under the banner of segregation against the existence of Catholic schools which has always been a target of Ulster Unionists who reject any idea Catholics have a right to attend a faith school.
You only have to look across to England to see just how how highly respected Catholic schools are and much sought after by parents. They are beating their doors down to gain admission.

Isn’t it odd that only one MP and a Labour Party one at that has been named. Would make you think there was a move afoot to smear the Labour Party in light of recent shocking revelations about the Tories and Johnson. 🤨news.sky.com/story/mi5-has-…
The fact that Barry Gardiner the Labour MP has been the only one named as yet as having been in receipt of a donor sum from the named Chinese agent known as Christine Lee is a bit strange when this woman has supposedly been doing the rounds of MP's from all parties for some time.
You would think going by the appalling record of this government with respect to shady dealings in respect of donors that the entire Tory front bench would have been investigated by MI5 for evidence of any donor amounts from the same Chinese agent. Nope..nowt happening there!! 🙄

Very funny! They don’t need any Chinese agent in Parliament to subvert the democratic processes when Boris and his ministers have been serial offenders in breaking both domestic and international law with impunity news.sky.com/story/mi5-has-…
The question is whether this is a deliberate attempt to deflect attention from public focus on Boris’s wrongdoings by use of the oldest trick in the book in blaming an enemy within. Oh yes there is an enemy within but we all already know who!! Anyone?? #BorisOut #noscapegoats
The timing of this warning from MI5 is the key and more than just a coincidence in coming just when the poster boy for Brexit looks like he is on his way out! Why now??

Worth taking on board unless of course you are still blind and singing from the same hymn sheet as the corrupt politicians and those medical advisers who have shares in the vaccines! 🤨
The above tweet from James Melville only makes sense if you realise and accept the context it was referring to. The vaccine doesn’t stop transmission of the virus only alleviates the symptoms. Therefore his tweet wouldn’t be a valid criticism if taken as such. However..👇
On the other hand.. the whole point of Covid Passports was to restrict entrance to nightclubs to ONLY the vaccinated thus according to government rationale used to support their introduction, reducing the spread of the virus.

On the northern side, Professor Sir Michael McBride was on radio earlier today explaining why getting the booster was important in the fight against Covid. He seemed to be alluding to herd immunity by vaccination reducing the incidence of Covid over time.
His argument certainly was convincing up to the point that he more or less accepted that we will have to learn to live with Covid as it will be here for many years if not for good and will probably result in it transmitting symptoms of average flu like proportions at worst.
What the Northern Ireland Chief Medical Officer didn't address was whether we will therefore require constant repeat Covid vaccinations ad infinitum. A lot more money for the Big Pharmaceutical companies???

Dr Denis McCauley, Chairman of the Irish Medical Association on radio just now has stated that he is firmly opposed to making vaccines mandatory. He is more in favour of "a large carrot and small stick approach" as the uptake to the vaccine rollout in Ireland has been excellent.
His comments come in the wake of the Irish Supreme Court's examination of the case for mandatory vaccines. Their view is the benchmark for legalising mandatory vaccines would have to be very significant and one that takes into account bodily autonomy for it to prove justifiable.
Any Irish Supreme Court decision in favour of mandatory vaccines would also have to require a new law to be passed which would open up a very large debate and strong resistance from various quarters that may prove counterproductive to gaining sufficient public support.
