"It is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day." -- Kamala Harris

Yes, that is a direct quote.
She is Michael Scott, only not likable or sympathetic.
Every interview is a "the dog ate my homework" interview for Kamala Harris.
"It is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day." This is one of the greatest lines I have ever heard from any politician. Truly.

Today is the first anniversary of January 6, a riot predicated on a falsehood pushed by President Trump -- a riot which did not prevent the certification of the 2020 election by Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
It was not a "coup" or an "insurrection," nor was it charged criminally as such. It was not a turning point for the republic or a referendum on American political violence.
It is now being exploited by the political class to dramatically revise republican institutions including federalism and the filibuster. The outsized focus on January 6 by the media and Democrats is a pure act of political opportunism, and should be seen as such.

"1883" is better than "Yellowstone" and it is not particularly close.
The plot to "Yellowstone" has collapsed. Every single script hole is filled by Beth just being randomly snarky to a rando. Jamie wanders in and out of the plot like a drunken hobo. John started off as an anti-hero, then just turned into a hero. Kacey is an adjunct to the show.
The whole tripartite structure of the show in the first season -- Native Americans vs. ranchers vs. developers -- has imploded. Now it's ultra-conservative rancher John hooking up with a fifth-level vegan environmental terrorist while Beth yells at secretaries or something.

So once it became clear that covid was not in fact a pagan god visiting vengeance on the unwashed Trump voters alone, the media and Democrats are now willing to admit the following:
1. Cloth masks are ineffective against omicron (Leanna Wen, CNN);
2. The vaccinated can spread and get covid;
3. The death rate is comparable to the flu (Chris Hayes);
4. Many people are entering hospitals with covid, not from covid (Fauci);
5. Natural immunity is a reason omicron hasn't been as virulent (Fauci);
6. We have to take into account societal needs, not just spread prevention (CDC);
7. The asymptomatic should not be tested (NFL);
8. We should focus on hospitalizations and deaths, not case rate (Biden);

OMG a guy was disrespectful to the president of the United States in one of the most euphemistic ways possible after four years of the entire legacy media celebrating pussyhats, middle fingers, and f*** yous directed at the president of the United States, everybody freak out
I've noticed our "speaking truth to power" media are laser-focused on outing and cudgeling a random dad who said "Let's Go Brandon" on behalf of the most powerful person on planet earth
Am I supposed to be extremely upset that a guy dropped a hilariously-timed euphemistic insult at the president of the United States in a democratic republic? Truly? Am I?

1. Omicron is 70x as infectious as delta, which was twice as infectious as the original variant.
2. Omicron is resulting in 10x fewer hospitalizations than prior waves in S. Africa.
3. Conclusion A: Everyone will get Omicron. Get used to it.
4. Conclusion B: Your chances of dying are minimal, and much lower than if you had delta. Those chances are striated based on age.
5. Conclusion C: Overall number of deaths will be higher than right now solely because number of infections will be larger.
6. Conclusion D: Vaccine passports will not do anything, because vaccines are not preventing infection at a high enough rate.
7. Conclusion E: There is no data that masks short of KN-95s did anything about Delta, so they'll do even less against Omicron.
