Bedtime story:
Once Narada Muni was on his way to Vaikuntha from Naimisharanya. A very learned scholarly man, passes by and after his obeisance to him, requests him to ask Bhagawan when he would get Mukti. Narada says ok and moves on singing HARI NAAM. An uneducated cobbler+
Then passes by, and he makes the same request as the learned Scholar. Narada says ok and reaches Vaikuntha. After doing stotras to bhagawan, and after all conversations, Narada asks about the requests of both the Scholar and the cobbler. Vishnu then says that the cobbler will +
Soon attain saameepya moksha and reach him to Vaikuntha, while the scholar will have to wait for many more janmas. Surprised, Narada looks at Bhagawan. Bhagawan smiles and says when they ask you what I am doing tell them that I am trying to pass an elephant through a needle's eye
Narada nods and leaves. When again the scholar meets him he curiously enquires about his request, and asks what bhagawan is doing in Vaikuntha. Narada says he's passing an elephant through a needle's eye. Angry at this, the scholar accuses him of lying and leaves in a huff. The
Same happens with the cobbler, and the cobbler with tears in his eyes, folds his hands, and with closed eyes praises Bhagawan. Narada asks do you believe what I told you? The cobbler replies ofcourse yes. When bhagawan can put a huge Banyan tree in a small seed, why can't he pass
An elephant through a needle's eye. Then Narada understands. The Scholar had all the knowledge, but lacked faith. All that the cobbler had was just faith in Bhagawan. Paramatma is more pleased by UNDETERRED faith on him and innocent simplicity, than with scholarly erudition 🙏+
The more the clutter in us, the more the distance between us and paramatma. Knowledge without faith, is as useless, as sea water to someone who is thirsty.
Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya 🙏
