1. The presence of Iranian VP of Economic Affairs, Moshen Rezaei, at the inauguration of Nicaraguan autocrat Daniel Ortega is an afront to the people of Argentina and the 85 victims of the AMIA terror attack in Buenos Aires.
2. Rezaei, the subject of an Interpol Red Alert notice freely traveled to the region & instead of being apprehended, was hailed as an honorable guest alongside the autocratic presidents of Venezuela & Cuba, who also have committed grave human rights abuses against their citizens.
3. Argentina’s Foreign Ministry’s post-facto condemnation of the Rezaei’s presence in Managua raises doubts on the effectiveness in acting on the Red Alerts and preventing Rezaei from freely traveling across the region.
4. The Foreign Ministry’s statement falls short of explaining why the ambassador of Argentina in Managua, Daniel Capitanich, who was also present at the inauguration stood by idly & did nothing to activate the Red Alert.
5. The threat of Iran in LATAM is real. Almost 28 years after the AMIA terrorist attacks on Argentinean soil, leaders in the region should hold the Iranian masterminds and their Hezbollah proxy accountable & stop embracing the antisemitic & terrorist Raisi regime.
6. We stand with the @InfoAMIA & @DAIAArgentina in condemning the presence of Rezaei and demanding justice for the victims and their families.
7. As a Jewish Iranian-American, I am also personally affronted by the egregious dereliction of Argentinian leaders in bringing justice to this act of terrorism and to holding the Iranian regime and the Hezbollah terror organization responsible for their heinous act.
8. As long as Raisi, Rezaei, and others go free and unpunished, the message to this antisemitic and Holocaust denying regime and their terror arms will be that they can act with impunity.
