#7/15 Then various asset-backed tokens, 1 masternode token and one analytics token :
Asset-backed: $CETH $CDAI $HBTC
Masternode: $DASH
Analytics: $GRT
#8/15 I finally ended up with a list of 20 very different Digital Currencies:
$BTC $USDT $USDC $XRP $DOGE $SHIB $BUSD $WBTC $UST $LTC $DAI $BCH $MIM $XMR $OHM $BSV $XEC $FRAX $ZEC $SPELL
#9/15 But digging deeper, 7 of the 20 were USD-pegged stablecoins. I put them apart since I am making the case for an UNPEGGED digital reserve currency:
$USDT $USDC $BUSD $UST $DAI $MIM $FRAX
#10/15 There were two privacy coins: @monero and @zcash ... they probably also serve as a reserve currency, but their main goal is privacy, so I separated them.
$XMR $ZEC
#11/15 There were three meme tokens: @dogecoin, @Shibtoken and Spell... again, they may serve as a long-term reserve and they are not pegged to anything. Maybe it's me, but I don't feel comfortable investing long-term in a meme coin:
$DOGE $SPELL $SHIB
#12/15 So I was left with 8 Unpegged Digital Reserve Currencies, listed by MC as of Jan 5, 2022: 1)Bitcoin, 2)XRP, 3)Wrapped Bitcoin, 4)Litecoin, 5)Bitcoin Cash, 6) Olympus OHM, 7) Bitcoin SV and 8) eCash
$BTC $XRP $WBTC $LTC $BCH $OHM $BSV $XEC
#13/15 Bitcoin is the OG king, no doubt... and has several relatives in the space. But I was looking for something different than Bitcoin so I took Bitcoin and bitcoin-like coins out:
$BTC $WBTC $LTC $BCH $BSV $XEC
#14/15 Finally I was left with two Unpegged Digital Reserve Currencies: @Ripple $XRP and @OlympusDAO $OHM. Both are reserve currencies, different than $BTC in their workings and supported by strong teams. $XRP is administered by a private company... $OHM is administered by a DAO
#15/15 I chose $OHM for two reasons... 1st because it's early... USD 1.8B of MC compared to $XRP's USD 37,7B. I feel $OHM today is like $BTC in 2010... 2nd because $OHM is administered by a DAO with one of the most amazing digital communities around.
Note: I love private companies and @Ripple is doing a terrific job, but a reserve currency managed by a private company makes some noise, at least to me.
Glad to hear your feedback!
