My beloved Guru Garu, Pouranika Sarvabhouma, Pravachana Chakravarthy, Veda Brahmasri Malladi Chandrashekhara Sastry Garu makes his final exit on this auspicious day! At 5.15 PM. There will never be another like him!
न भूतो न भविष्यति!
Atma Shanti 🙏
In his long and illustrious lifetime of 97 years, Sastry Garu has done over a lakh Saptahams of Srimad Bhagawatam, Srimad Valmiki Ramayanam and Mahabharatam. In addition to others like Srinivasa Kalyanam etc. He was an authority on the Vedas, Puranas and Upanishads!
🙏🙏🙏
Like Bheeshma Pitamaha, he observed Vaikuntha Ekadasi yesterday, and exited today. He lived a full life! So inspiring!
The heavens must be ringing with his voice!
His Pravachanams are available for all of us to listen and learn!
There will never be another like him! 😭🙏
Former PM PV Narasimha Rao Garu considered Sastry Garu one of his Gurus. If it was annual Panchanga Sravanam, Bhadrachalam Utsavams or Tirumala Brahmotsavams, the commentary had to be by Sastry Garu. Seen here with him and spiritual Guru Kandukuri Shivananda Murty Garu.
🙏
Carnatic classical musicians, the wonderful Malladi Brothers were distant relatives.
Malladi Vaaru never cared for any awards or recognitions much. If any ceremony didn't suit his strict Dinacharya, according to the Panchangam, he would bluntly refuse whatever it was. However important!
🙏
Several friends have asked if he authored any books. Yes, he did. I would say his magnum opus was this! Sri Ramayana Rahasya Darshini.
Every devout Hindu must read it. It gives you unique insights into the Valmiki Ramayanam. And can be a Parayana Grandham.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
He also authored a smaller work 'Sri Krishna Lahari' for the Krishna Pushkarams. It was published by the TTD.
🙏🙏🙏
Rare image of a young Malladi Vaaru. In his early twenties! Just starting out as a Pravachanakarta after his Vidyaabhyas am.
What a phenomenal life!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Auspicious morning of Magha Shukla Ashtami when Bheeshma, the grand old Pitamaha of the Mahabharata, completed revealing the greatness of Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam to the Pandavas, as he lay on a bed of arrows in Kurukshetra.
A short thread
🙂🙏🙂🙏🙂
In Shanthi Parva of Mahabharatam, we know Bheeshma decided to leave his mortal coil on the 8th phase in bright fortnight of Magha, Magha Shukla Ashtami, also known as #BheeshmaAshtami. He was already on a bed of arrows over the last few Pakshas.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Bheeshma was not his original name. He was King Devavrata. Due to the uncompromising Pratigya he took, he was addressed as 'Bheeshma'. He was also a master of Vedas and Shastras. Hence, out of everyone in the Kuru clan, he was addressed as "Bheeshmacharya" with reverence.
Got news late last night that Dr. Mark Dykzkowski passed away. He was one of the greatest living authorities on Kashmiri Trika Shaivism and an extraordinary scholar with in depth knowledge on the works of Abhinavagupta. He was also a wonderful Sitar artiste.
Atma Shanti! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Dr Mark Dyczkowski was one of the world’s foremost scholars on Tantra and Kashmiri Trika Shaivism and has lived and worked in India for the last 4 decades. Both a scholar and a practitioner, he was initiated by the great Indian teacher Swami Laksmanjoo in 1976.
With a degree from Banaras Hindu University and a Ph.D. from Oxford, where he researched Kashmir Shaivism under the guidance of Prof Alexis Sanderson, Mark has published extensively including the 12 volume Manthanabhairava Tantra.
Auspicious morning of Pushya Bahula Panchami on the traditional Hindu calendar. Sadguru Tyagaraja Swamy attained Siddhi in 1847 on this day. Every year, thousands of musicians and devotees come to Thiruvaiyaru to offer their tributes at his Samadhi Mandiram.
Wrestler, Trader, Ayurvedacharya, Bone-setter, staunch Vaishnava, Mysore Samsthana Raja Vaidya and finally a legendary brand in his own lifetime!
The iconic “Ustad” Kayangadi Papanna!
🤩🙏🏼🤩🙏🏼🤩
Wondering if i should put a thread! 🙆🏻♂️🤔
Papanna’s ancestors migrated from Andhra to the Mysore Kingdom about four generations before him. They belonged to the Telugu Balija community. Many members of that community migrated to the Karnataka region including the saint Kaiwaram Amara Nareyana Swamy.
