Stomach ulcer is:
NOT caused by hunger
NOT caused by pepper

Stomach ulcer is commonly caused by:
H. Pylori infection
Abuse of drugs like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac called NSAIDS

It is also curable and treatable.
Your stomach secretes an acid known as gastric acid with a pH of less than 3.5 enough to burn through your skin, why doesnt this burn your stomach?

This is because your stomach is protected by a sheet of mucus like substance that protects it from being destroyed by this acid
When you get infected with H Pylori, it can survive the harsh environment of the stomach by netutralizing the acid around it

It is able to colonise the stomach, sometimes for years, this can lead to inflammation and create a chance for acid to reach the stomach wall

The cough, sore throat and body pain you have right now is not malaria.

I know it's your body, but it's not malaria.
Here in this part of the world, we assume that once you have generic symptoms, it's malaria. So sometimes, without a test, people go out and get drugs.

Wrong.

Sometimes ,the symptoms are a pointer.

Cough, cattarh, are usually symptoms of a respiratory infection not malaria
Fever, joint pains, a feeling of being unwell. these are what we refer to as non-specific symptoms. Could be anything really. It's always best to test. See a doctor. Get your symptoms analyzed, it could point to where it's coming from.

They just rushed a kid into the emergency room.

Her mum was trying to force feed her pap. According to her, "E too dey select food"

Child is struggling to breathe, doctors are battling to save her.

"God forbid" is not a startegy

My family was all good until I had a surgery in 2007 where my father had to pay out of pocket for it. Many families never recover from health emergencies for a long time.

The person might recover from the illness, but your pocket might not.
No one is praying to fall ill, but if you do, you need to be sure that you're not going to be pushed into poverty by that illness.

You might think ah! It's just a small admission, before you know what's happening, millions gone.
I remember this man whose wife fell ill, he had to use everything they had, after that, they had to move back to the village.

She's still ill. He was one of the big men in Alaba market before this happened. You might say village people, I say a lack of proper health insurance

If you can, take your shawarma without sausages at all, it's healthier. Sausages, hot dogs, corned beef, are classified as Group 1 carcinogens. Processed meat generally.

What does this mean? There is STRONG evidence that they can cause cancer. In the same group as tobacco
The evidence is so strong that Tobacco (cigarettes or shisha) are in the same category as processed meats

Does this mean it is as dangerous as Tobacco? Not necessarily, it just means that the scientific evidence that it causes cancer is strong

Red meat was placed in Group 2A
Does this mean you should stop eating meat?

Cut down your intake of processed meats, or stop altogether

Some of these meats contain chemicals during processing like N-nitroso compounds

Suya is not safe either as the burning can form polyaromatic hydrocarbons which is harmful

Ladies, if your blood group has a negative sign beside it, this thread is for you. A-, B-, O- etc

It means your blood group is Rhesus Negative, getting pregnant for a man whose blood is Rh-positive could mean problems for future pregnancies

Here's how
