Greg had gone to school with Sue’s granddaughter, Autumn!

Everyone knows Dolly Parton is a music legend.

But today, in honor of her 76th birthday, we want to do something different.

Here are seven times Dolly Parton helped save the world.

A thread. 🧵
In 2020, Dolly Parton donated $1M to Covid research.

That donation helped fund the Moderna vaccine.

She’s the only musician who funded a vaccine, then literally got jabbed with it herself.

She even sang one of her songs to celebrate the moment.
In 1995, Dolly Parton saw her hometown’s literacy rates were terrible.

The high school dropout rate was 34%.

To help, she started giving our free books as a way to encourage kids to read.

Today, she’s given out more than 100 million free books to kids across America. Dolly reading to school chi...

Ontario, Canada's most populated province, was just hit with their worst snowstorm in years.

It led to school closures, traffic jams, and police warning people to stay home.

It also led to the most amazing acts of kindness you’ll ever see.

A Canadian Thread.

It’s a once in a lifetime event that saved someone’s life.

And it brings together some of the world’s best things —Hockey, science, and the power of social media.

A heartwarming Thread 🧵
This is Brian Hamilton.

He’s an equipment manager for the Vancouver @Canucks in the @NHL.

Being an equipment manager means you travel with the team, look after the players, and make sure they have whatever they need.

But one day in Seattle, it was Brian who needed something. Brian "Red" Hamilton looking at the camera in a Va
On October 23, Brian was behind the bench doing his job when a Seattle fan knocked on the glass behind him, trying to get his attention.

In hockey, you can’t hear through the glass, so the fan held up her phone with a message.

You can see her on the game’s video replay.

What a year!

At the start of 2021, Goodable was a tiny team with a big vision. Today, we have:

✅ A historic studio
✅ Great investors
✅ A global staff
✅ Partnership with Google

We want to take a moment and look back at Goodable’s highlights of 2021.
We moved into a fabulous new studio space!

It’s bright, happy, and positive — just like us! 😊

It also happens to be the place where Jim Henson created The Fraggles.

In short: we love it.
We also grew.

A lot.

We now have a 10+ team of engineers, developers, designers, product and content leads.

And as a tribute to Jim, we added this guy too. 🐸 A green kermit puppet sits ...Image

A thread 🧵 Betty white, wearing a light blue shirt
Early in her career, Betty was told she was too “unphotogenic” to make it in Hollywood.

She proved all her doubters wrong, landing a role in television.

She went on to win nearly thirty awards and land dozens more nominations over the next 60 years. A picture of young Betty white wearing a red dress
When Betty White fell in love with Allen Ludden, it was for life.

After he passed away when she was fifty nine, she never remarried. When asked why, she famously said “Once you’ve had the best, who needs the rest?” A black and white photo of Betty white and Allen Ludden
