Shaykh Al Azhari said, please explain. The man replied that we are told to follow the Quran, then the sunnah and finally go to Qiyaas. You have taken Qiyaas first whereas the virtue of parents is established through nass. The shaykh was in agreement that a mistake has been made..
The man went on to say that thuwayba, who had given milk to our beloved prophet a few times showed her immense respect by spreading a cloth for her and this has not been established for angel jibraeel even though he is the closest person you will get as a teacher for our prophet.
The shaykh says he was completed satisfied by the answer and as he thought the middle aged man must be a faqeeh, the man walked away. After enquiring, he was told the man was the shaykhul hadeeth, Mufti Saeed Ahmed Palanpuri RA of Hind (india).
