This letter, written by Erin and Clint Thomas, is a perfect example of what you can do to help #FreeTheirFaces in schools NOW!

2/ Simply replace the text in CAPS with your own information and email to your Principal, Dean, Counselors, School Board and SuperIntendant. Don’t forget to put your child’s Student ID in the subject line and send a separate email per child.

3/Make sure to confirm receipt in writing. Please share with everyone you can think of. We need to get as many letters to the schools, Superintendent and Board as possible.

4/This is to notify you, along with [INSERT YOUR SCHOOL'S NAME] administration & teachers, Dr. Ziegler, and the
Board of our parental choice to no longer mask our children, [INSERT CHILD'S NAME AND STUDENT
ID#], while in school or on school grounds, effective immediately.

5/ Governor Youngkin's Executive Order issued yesterday, January 15th, 2022, authorizes this choice while also terminating Order of Public Health Emergency Order Ten (2021) and the Interim Guidance for
COVID-19 Prevention in Virginia PreK-12 Schools issued January 14, 2021

6/and updated October 14,
2021.

This Order also authorizes our choice to supersede "any policy implemented by a teacher, school,
school district, the Department of Education, or any other state authority" which includes SB1303 and Chapter 456 under VA code

7/and such code sections' subjective application and interpretation of CDC recommended guidance.

Governor Youngkin's Executive Order also allows for parents to elect
"..for their children to not be subject to any mask mandate in effect at the child's school..."

8/which applies
regardless of any choice [INSERT SCHOOL DISTRICT] may make requiring ongoing masking, in defiance of the Order.

We expect continued equitable, respectful treatment of our children by all members of [YOUR
SCHOOL'S NAME] administration and teachers.

9/We expect their access to free public education to continue in-person and in a non-disparate, non discriminatory manner.

We acknowledge a societal interest in assessing the immediate likelihood of our children being
contagious with regard to any disease or malady.

10/ To that extent, upon valid inquiry, we, as parents, will not refrain from identifying, on behalf of our children, if they are known to have COVID-19 at the time
of inquiry, or if they have certain identifiable symptoms.

11/Upon valid inquiry, we will also identify our knowledge with respect to recent exposure to any person currently diagnosed with an active infection of COVID-19.

12/ Also, upon valid inquiry, with our parental consent, they will also not refrain from any entity obtaining their temperature by non-invasive means.

13/ If you have any questions about our choice or its implementation when school is next in session, please
call me directly at [INSERT PHONE NUMBER].

Please add this letter to my children's school file so that it may be part of their permanent record.
