Today we urge the United States Senate to adopt comprehensive voting rights legislation.
We cannot celebrate Dr. King’s birthday while standing idly by as these weapons against democracy become law across the country - we must act. The voice of every citizen being heard in an election is the fundamental concept of our republic. 1/4
Indeed, it’s why we decided to become a nation - to rule ourselves, not have one voice elevated above all others. To not have one ideologist elevated above all others. 2/4
We the People.
This “we” doesn’t exist if access to the ballot is restricted.
…Is revised.
…Is reduced.
…Is reimagined.
There is no we when “we” start kicking people out of voting lines or even refusing them water. 3/4
Rather, we must get rid of long voting lines altogether across the nation like we have here.
Support this resolution to celebrate Colorado’s best and safest-in-the-nation election system. The Senate must pass voting rights legislation now. 4/4
The final vote fell to party lines.
If one party believes in protecting the the sacred right of voting, to fair and freely vote, then that one party must make that happen in DC.

Hello @VP / @Mike_Pence. Heard you’re visiting my hometown for the holiday. Stay tuned for a story a day of things that would be different if you had chosen to lead and address and instead of ignore and minimize the COVID-19 pandemic. #COVID19
Good morning @VP / @Mike_Pence. Make sure you pack a mask. You’ll be spending the holidays in a mandatory mask zone. And as you fly into Eagle and drive up valley, you’ll pass by a couple of schools - CO saw it’s first decrease in enrollment since the 80s.
Are you settled in @VP / @Mike_Pence ? Looking at what to do while you are here? Pls note that an event producer based in Vail had to furlough all their employees & go dark after 26 yrs of producing events across the world & for Vail. No plan from you= they couldn’t plan events.
