One S19 Pro 110Th/s to heat my ~700sf tool storage in MN. Currently 32 degrees outside and keeps 50-55 degrees inside even on cold days.
Total setup was less than $300... except for the ASIC, obv🙃
Found the smallest filter at a DIY store and built the fireproof rated plywood box to fit that. Used sound dampening foam but tbh not sure if that doesn't anything but noise isn't a big concern anyways.
The wait time & cost on cords was too much so I bought two 14awg / 15amp / c13 plugs on amazon and wired them to a 12awg cord w/ 208v male plug. This plugs into a surge protector on a 208v, 20 amp circuit.
Also, didn't want to wait on a 3d shroud so I just installed two 6" intakes/exhaust ducts (fan speed steady @ ~3,900 RPM so it seems sufficient).
Will vent to outside in the summer and can add inline fans if needed.
Sound is a comfy ~55 decibels so no need for muffler.
For the networking, signal comes in through t-mobile hotspot and passes through @pfsense router w/ @ProtonVPN. Shoutout @econoalchemist for his networking guide...
Want a simple way to pump your home #btc mining bags⛏️👜?
Here’s why US mining plebs should consider mining as a business (and not a hobby).
Read on for some high level thoughts from a CPA who mines #btc (also, this isn't tax/legal advice)…
AHM is profitable (🖕skeptics) but taxes are often the largest expense after⚡️⚡️. With this in mind, many miners leave a lot of meat on the bone because they can’t deduct electricity, rig costs, etc. for taxes (or anything actually).
So how much meat you ask? Let’s see...
Below is a back of the envelope tax return P&L assuming you....
-Bought an S19j Pro (100 Th) for $11,440
-Run it for the next 12 mo’s at today’s prices (shoutout @braiins_systems )
-$.12 kWh residential electricity
-$750 in startup/build costs
-22% federal tax bracket
