NSW COVID-19 update – Thursday 20 January 2022

In the 24-hour reporting period to 8pm last night:

- 95.3% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 93.8% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 29% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*
- 82.3% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.3% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 19.1% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 2,781 hospitalisations
- 212 people in ICU
- 25 lives lost
- 30,825 positive tests: 13,178 RAT & 17,647 PCR

*Includes both immunocompromised people who have received a third dose and all people aged 18+ who have received a booster.
** Of the 13,178 positive RAT results, 11,034 of these positive tests were from the previous seven days. Please note there may be some cases included in these numbers where people have reported positive RATs on multiple days and/or where people have also had a
positive PCR test during the same reporting period.

- 95.3% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 14,988,948 with 4,666,052 administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 10,322,896 administered by the GP network, pharmacies and other providers to 11.59pm on Wednesday 19 January 2022.
