1 - Since becoming a $LUNA & $SCRT investor, user, & community member, I've become a @cosmos & IBC advocate. Naturally, my next step’s to explore more IBC connected chains & learn all I can about this hub. That is what brought me to @JunoNetwork, a thread🧵on what I've learned
@cosmos@JunoNetwork 2 - Junø is “an open source platform for interoperable smart contracts which automatically executes, controls or documents a procedure of relevant events and actions according to the terms of such contract or agreement to be valid & usable across multiple sovereign networks.”
@cosmos@JunoNetwork 3 - In short, Junø allows smart contracts to be efficiently & securely launched in a decentralized, permissionless & censorship resistant way. It enables smart contracts native to Junø to interact with any IBC chain continuing to push forward bringing $ATOM's L0 promise
@cosmos@JunoNetwork 4 - Junø’s seeks to:
- Become the 1st permissionless, interoperable smart contract network
- Eliminate bottlenecks in scalability, interoperability, high fees, & concentrated governance
- Preserve the Cosmos Hub by offloading smart contract usage to a designated contract zone
@cosmos@JunoNetwork 5 - Junø's the neutral home of @CosmWasm smart contracts + the InterWasm DAO. It enables modules in Rust to integrate w/ the Cosmos SDK. Utilizing mainnet-proven Cosmos-SDK mods & BPoS Tendermint consensus algorithm, CosmWasm prevents most classes of attacks present in Solidity
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm 6 - To summarize, it’s through CosmWasm that trustless messaging passes between blockchains without a middleman, timing issues, or lack of security. Code on one chain executes a tx on another w/o inherent risks. It's how Juno offloads smart contract usage from the Cosmos Hub
With respect to the length of this thread, I am going to move onto more Junø specific content
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm 8 - Through the Moneta Upgrade, Junø took its evolution to the next level by offering the first public & permissionless network for interoperable smart contract deployment. Built by $ATOM holders and 100% distributed to staked atom holders, JUNO, the asset, is quite compelling
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm 9 - The JUNO token secures the POS network, is key to on-chain governance, acts as gas for Junø smart contracts, captures value from dapps built on the Network, and can be utilized as collateral. It’s completely community owned with its supply distribution as follows:
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm 10 - Right now, $JUNO sits at ~700 million MCap however it has been as high as $800 million. At its current price (even after recent market volatility) JUNO is nearly 80% above its IDO price from late-November. The JUNO token is still nascent & can be traded on Osmosis & JunoSwap
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm 11 - @junoswap is an interchain DEX built on Junø. Supporting healthy markets and liquidity for native Juno tokens and IBC assets, it’s currently active in Beta. Right now LPs lack incentives and are only rewarded via swap fees. That will change soon tho:
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 12 - Naturally competing w/ $OSMO, here’s what's next JunoSwap:
- LP incentives
- Community spend proposal for bootstrapping liquidity
- V2 launch (Shortly after V1)
- Launch JunoSwap #DAO w/ native asset that will provide bonus incentives to LPs
- Community spend proposal #2
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 13 - $RAW, the JunoSwap native asset, will be assigned & rebalanced by the DAO to incentivize strong pools on JunoSwap on a weekly basis. This already is ringing $CRV / $SPIRIT type bells in my head. As its launch nears, several stakedrops are coming for major #COSMOS networks
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 14 - $NETA's another intriguing facet of the $JUNO eco. The “$$$” of Junø, its function is to be a scarce decentralized store of value asset. Without a seed sale, private sale or public sale, the Juno community owns all NETA in existence. Next I will detail how it's distributed
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 15 - $NETA's claim window opened 1/1/22 based on the following criteria:
- Delegated <25 JUNO on-chain = 1 NETA
- Voted on <1 on-chain gov proposal = 10 bonus NETA
- Voted on all on-chain gov prop = 5 bonus NETA
- Delegated to <1 validator outside the top 20 = 0.2 bonus NETA
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 16 - I view $NETA, $RAW, & other emerging assets on $JUNO to be critical to the platform’s success. With the number of L1s within the $ATOM eco, though most have differentiated niches, the ecosystems & demand for native assets will dictate which chains ultimately prevail.
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 17 - This is critical because Rust devs have the ability to choose among a number of chains when deciding where to build (or go cross-chain). Most often, momentum generated by native assets/apps are a driving force in this decision. Within $ATOM alone, there will be competition.
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap 18 - This is clearly exemplified with @EvmosOrg, a Cosmos-based EVM compatible L1. As Junø has previously mentioned that it aims to eventually add EVM-compatibility in a future governance vote, EVMOS’s market share/dominance will surely be a factor in this expansion decision.
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap@EvmosOrg 19 - Still, $JUNO’s value proposition is important & differentiated enough to achieve success within the $ATOM / IBC eco. It’s inherently community-oriented with 100% of its supply being community owned. This is a strength as the community's incentivized to promote the chain
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap@EvmosOrg 20 - $JUNO's nascent & comes with its risks, some I mentioned. As an investor, I’d recommend DYOR, utilizing Junø’s native apps, & exploring utility for its native assets. With interoperability being core to it also, I’d recommend also doing so for its cross-chain offerings (end)
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap@EvmosOrg Q&A 1: Junø vs Agoric - Agoric's also a Cosmos-based interoperable smart contracts platform, however, it uses JavaScript vs Rust & Go. Agoric is aiming to attract JavaScript devs not yet building in the blockchain space. Agoric also has a dual token economy with $BLD & $RUN
@cosmos@JunoNetwork@CosmWasm@JunoSwap@EvmosOrg Q&A 2: $JUNO vs $SCRT - The main difference, as they both utilize Rust, is SCRT;'s designed w/ a privacy-first orientation. This ideologically differs from Junø which features the traditional public blockchain structure. It also creates differences in the programmability of each

Before reading this thread on @Shade_Protocol - $SHD, I’d highly recommend familiarizing with SCRT as understanding this content is highly dependent upon that
@SecretNetwork@Shade_Protocol 2 - Shade Protocol is a stablecoin centric protocol native to SCRT. $SILK, $SDE’s counterpart, an algorithmic stablecoin, is privacy-preserving and inspired by $UST’s design with some variation. SDE, comparable to $LUNA, is the treasury, utility, arbitrage, and governance token.
@SecretNetwork@Shade_Protocol 3 - Though pre-launch, Shade has a robust roadmap which includes the SILK stablecoin, a native arbitrage mechanism, synthetics, a reserve, a leverage product, & liquidity provisions across the SCRT eco. Make sure to keep up to date via their socials & discord
1/ - 2 weeks ago, I started researching & experimenting with @SecretNetwork - $SCRT. With my intrigue stemming from $LUNA & my growing interest in Cosmos, I found Secret’s tech & proposed solutions to be quite compelling. Though I will keep learning, here is my initial review
@SecretNetwork 2/ - Secret’s value proposition is centered around privacy and the solutions it can bring within its own ecosystem & the broader Cosmos ecosystem. Combining $ETH’s smart contracts with $XMR’s privacy, + $ATOM’s scalability & interoperability, Secret boasts a unique tech stack
@SecretNetwork 3/ - Their intention to enable privacy across chains makes Cosmos the perfect home for it. Whether it is in DeFi, NFTs, or anything in between, privacy will be essential for mass adoption. Demand will soon spike & Secret’s positioning on Cosmos allows it to capitalize upon it
