In 2006 there was plan to bulit #NationalWarMemorial but it was cancelled. Reason for that 'as

"the wall would obstruct the view of India Gate."

In 2012, It was again cancelled coz Congress CM, Sheila Dikshit opposed the govt. recommendation saying, "it will affect the ambience of the area and restrict people's movement at the popular hangout zone".
In october 2015 @narendramodi ji's Cabinet cleared Rs. 500 crore for National War Memorial and museum.
