Journalist @SedefKabas has been taken into police custody over her remarks on @tele1comtr. It is reported that she was taken from her home at 2 am for "insulting the president."
Her lawyer @av_ugurpoyraz has said that she is waiting for her statement to be taken at the police station and will be brought to the courthouse tomorrow after her statement. Turkey's media watchdog RTÜK had also announced that they launched an investigation on TELE1.
The Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül: "I condemn these shameless and ugly remarks targeting our President who's been elected by our people. These remarks born out of jealousy and hostility will get what they deserve before the people's conscience and justice."
After her statement at the police station, journalist #SedefKabaş has been brought to the courthouse. Her lawyer @av_ugurpoyraz has tweeted that they are waiting for the prosecutor to take her statement.
The prosecutor's referred journalist #SedefKabaş to the Criminal Peace Judgeship and requested that she be arrested.
Fahrettin Altun, Presidency's Director of Communications released a press statement in which he "strongly condemn[ed] the insults directed at our President and his office." and referred to #SedefKabaş as a "so-called journalist."

In his decision to arrest journalist #SedefKabaş, the judge argued that considering the severity of the crime and the high sentence it merits, #SedefKabaş is a flight risk and therefore judicial control measures will not be sufficient.
