The Tragedy of Macbeth was great. I love how Joel Coen was inspired by Zach Snyder to do it in black and white and 4:3 to give Macbeth some of the epic-ness of Justice League.
If I can offer some criticism of Macbeth, it seemed liked the title character was a pretty decent guy, but then his wife suddenly flips his evil switch and he just starts murdering men, women, and children.
And then Lady Macbeth is this total cold-hearted broad whose first solution to everything is murder, but suddenly she grows a conscience at the end and goes crazy? I don’t buy it.
And I think colorblind casting is a great idea, but it was funny how this one scene of Macbeth making fun of how pale and white someone was (“whey face”) came off much harsher since it was coming from Denzel Washington.
And man, Denzel Washington was one scary old dude in those last couple scenes. That was excellent.
And there was also an interesting expansion of the character of Ross in this version. It’s neat how much of Shakespeare’s plays is ambiguous and open to a director’s interpretation.

It’s 3/21 — #WorldDownSyndromeDay. My two year old son Winchester has Down syndrome. Here he is trying to set the cat on fire.
And here is having snuck into a stroller to find a quiet place to read a book. He only knows a few words and doesn’t know his alphabet yet, but he loves books.
“Special” is sometimes used derogatorily, but special is just a really good word for him. Our older three kids act each day like they’ve never seen a baby before because there is just something so special about him. He has really blessed our family.
Hey, NYT, but when have we ever “trafficked in misinformation”? The link there does not assert anything like that. This is like slander — sorry, libel — casually thrown in for no reason. Why is it hard to believe people on the right want to make jokes and have no sinister motive?
BTW, Facebook has basically crushed our reach on their platform since about a week or so before the election. Following us on Facebook is pretty much useless as we’ll never come up in your feed.
One thing I've noticed from Super Mario 3D All-Stars, is that only with Mario 64 can you tell at one glance it's an old game. For someone who lived from Atari to NES to SNES to N64, the last two decades feel stalled graphically.
I mean, you'd never mistake an NES game for an Atari game, or a SNES for an NES game. N64 was almost alien technology compared to the previous.
And I remember when you had to upgrade your computer every two years if you wanted to play the latest computer games. Then they started targeting consoles and you only had to upgrade when Sony decided it was time for next-gen.
Venus is way closer than Mars (on average), but we don't explore it as much because it's such a challenge to come up with a probe that could survive on it. I guess we should try harder.
I think if you do the math, on average, Mercury is the closest planet to any other planet in the solar system.
Here's a picture of the surface of Venus from a Soviet probe in the early 80s. That's about all we've got. We have better pictures of the surface of Titan, for pete's sake.
All the "there wouldn't be violence without cops!" people don't yet deserve to live in a civilized country. Send them someplace else and then they can come back when they're ready.
I think a lot of drastic things have to be done to change policing in this country, but the "abolish the police" children should not be a part of that discussion. They have nothing useful to add.
Some people are complete sociopaths when police commit violence, justifying it no matter what. Others are complete sociopaths when criminals commit violence so they can justify their “abolish police” nonsense. They’re basically the same sort of person.
I hope everyone is enjoying Superego: Fathom. I envy you, getting to experience my writing for the first time. That is a memory you will cherish until the day you die.
Man, I hate marketing. I also hate giving things away for free. But you can profit from my pain.
