Pot, Moche (1st millennium AD) Image
I’m a big fan of Ai-Apaec, the principal Moche deity, “who is identified by feline fangs & a belt decorated with snakes.”

(Feline fangs seem to have been a significant feature of early Peruvian art…) Image
What a wonderfully interesting, perfectly proportioned show (though I gather there is a lot more that might have been included…)

We released 4 new episodes of @TheRestHistory this week.

Two marked the 2070th anniversary of Caesar's CROSSING OF THE RUBICON
The second episode took us to the banks of the Rubicon itself. What did Caesar really say as he hesitated before making the crossing?
Then we released two more anniversary episodes: this time to mark 1922, and to explore the degree to which the year stands - as Ezra Pound claimed it did - as the beginning of the modern.
