Analysing Boris Johnson through the Nolan Principles:
Honesty: Boris Johnson has misled parliament and the nation, on numerous occasions, and has refused to correct the record.
Openness: Boris Johnson has withheld information from the public regarding VIP PPE lanes, Downing Street parties, etc.
Objectivity: Boris Johnson has made decisions regarding Covid lockdown based on forecasted economic impact, rather than scientific data.
Selflessness: Boris Johnson imposed lockdown rules upon the nation, only to break his own rules for leaving parties, a birthday party and "Wine Fridays".
Integrity: Boris Johnson has previously placed himself under obligation to Serco and other private companies over the NHS and the public.
Accountability: Boris Johnson has previously passed blame for Downing Street parties from himself, onto junior members of staff.
Leadership: Boris Johnson has held members of parliament in contempt, often giving short one-sentence answers to opposition members, and going so far as to mock SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford, referring to the party as "Scottish Nationalists".
Conclusion: Boris Johnson has failed to uphold the Nolan Principles throughout his leadership. The only viable route going forward is for him to resign.
