Did you know Netflix has almost as much search "worth" as CNN?
Curious as to how?
A small 🧵thread on some of the great things they implement + links to great articles to help you explore further
They recognize what searchers are searching.
For example: Their use of "watch".
They optimize their Title tags with "watch" most of the time, winning for all of those terms ($3.1 million worth, according to @semrush)
They implement genre pages (netflix.com/browse/genre/)
that rank well for terms such as "best comedy" and "tv show/s"
For most of their results, they take you directly to the movie/TV landing page, providing direct access to watching instead of summaries, descriptions or reviews
They'll rank for terms like "watch spotlight" or "watch the office", even though they don't offer the ability to watch (Netflix, why are you the way you are? -MS)
They're able to maintain rankings even thought they don't offer it due to nicely optimized pages
Interested in the technical aspect of how Netflix brilliantly implements their SEO?
