26.1.2022 ~ 630 AM -Outside KSR Railway station (SBC)
– I was in the process of getting out when a #BBMP Marshall threatened me in #Hindi to step to the side by yelling at me,”mask kyu nahi paina? Photo dikavu kya??”

Me, in my mind - Do I bloody look like North Indian to these jokers?
Me: ‘yakappa, #Kannada baravallva?’
Marshall 1 : aaythu aaythu, Baa side ge… kattu fine’u -two pipty kattu !! (his tone was like I was a war-criminal on the loose)

I realized they had rounded about 5 more men (poor looking – north Indian men) I was the 6th. I was observing the 5 helpless men and the two #BBMP marshalls – I loved their arrogance of #BBMP marshalls on us (common people).

After 1 minute-
Me: ‘Boss, tindi thibeku
Marshall 1 : Fine kattu… hogu
Me: Katalla boss!
M1 : Police barthare, station ge hogi helu..
Me: yavag barthare police avaru..?
M1: wait maadu
Me: ok.

After about 2 minutes:
Me: hotte hasitide, manage hogbeku.. moor dina aythu mane oota maadi’
M1 : police barovargu bidolla…
Me: ah…ok

In the mean time, a woman (early 30s) wife of one of the man (rounded for not wearing a mask) came and started to literally begging by folding her hands to the other marshall (2) to let her and husband go as they are poor and they ‘were’ wearing mask..

Marshal 2 was extremely abusive to the woman told her, ‘ Jaa kade hojavo side pe’ as she kept pleading and pleading ( this can be traced in CCTV, I believe). At this point of time, my patience level was all time low,

I yelled at the M2 - why the heck are you treating that lady like a criminal, give respect to her, while she is begging for your mercy, or tell her in good words to stand aside- she looks panic!’
M2 to me: I do not have to learn manners from you. Stand aside quietly..

In the meantime, I requested the woman to stop begging and told her that I will help her when the cops arrive..but she kept begging them to let go.. and the M2 continued to be abusive.. In this melee I yelled at the M2 to apologize to the woman and give respect to the woman

By this time, about 5 to 10 by standers, stood to watch the ‘show’ where I was telling M1 and M2 why do not you guys show your power against politicians and big officers.. by this time the Marshalls might have realized that things are getting out of hand,

they let the 5 men and women leave. After they were let go, I felt good since the woman was relieved and she left the scene with her husband.
Then the Marshalls to me, ‘Sir –we would let you and them go, you must be respectful to us, see didn’t we let them go?

Now, you too can go… and I was allowed to go!
Not sure, if this was the right way to handle the situation, but one thing is clear, we are ‘ucked up big time while the politicians and big officers are having popcorn at our expense..
Shame on us, #Bengaluru folks!
