My case for why you should be eating organ meat...

... and LOTS of it.

=Thread=
As humans, our diet has drastically strayed away from our ancestral nature.

Media & Entertainment has convinced you to eat less meat .

And when we do eat meat, we only eat the muscle.
This is ass-backwards from how we have evolved.

You see, we have been eating animals for 2.6 Million years.

We have been cooking meat for around 500,000 years.

We have evolved as a species BECAUSE of meat, not in spite of it.
We have evolved to eat "Nose to Tail" which is something we have detached from within the last 100 years.

Nose to Tail nutrition means that you eat the ENTIRE animal, not just the muscle.

Liver, bone marrow, spleen, heart, kidney, thymus, intestines, and testicle are crucial.
"Liver?! Spleen?! Testicle?!"

Yes, this may sound insane and even gross... But that is only what mainstream society has programmed you to think.

Stick with me here.

Organs are the most nutrient-dense things you can put in your entire body.
There is a reason why the Wolf goes for the organs first after a kill.

They instinctively know where the most nutrient-dense part of the animal lies.

The liver, heart, and fats are cherished as the most sacred.

The muscle meats prized by humans were left for other scavengers.
Even though organ meats contain highly bioavailable vitamins, minerals, fats, and amino acids, they are not regularly consumed.

In fact, organ meats are more economically valuable as an export product in the US.

Yes. We are exporting organs instead of eating them ourselves.
Nutrient Density is crucial to understanding the importance of organs.

ND simply refers to the amount of nutrition per calorie.

Sadly, the Western Diet has prioritized high-calorie foods loaded with sugar and seed oils.

Organ meats are the complete opposite.
Organ meats are the most nutrient dense foods on the planet.

They contain:

-B12
-Vitamins A, D, E, and K
-iron, copper, magnesium
-a beneficial omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acid ratio.

In this thread we are going to focus on the big 4:

1. Liver
2. Heart
3. Pancreas
4. Kidneys
1. Liver

The liver is referred to as the superfood of the animal kingdom.

The liver removes toxins from the body’s blood supply, maintains healthy blood sugar levels, and has many other functions.

It is incredibly Nutrient dense.
1-oz of liver has almost 100% of your daily requirement of Vitamin A.

The same serving provides you 2.75x your daily requirement of B12

It also contains vitamin D, E, K, B1, B2, B6, folate, iron, copper, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, manganese, choline, and essential fats.
2. Heart

The Heart is a muscle, giving it a more familiar texture to eat.

It's role is to assist in the delivery of nutrients around the body.

The Heart is a great source of:coenzyme-Q1042, copper, collagen, seleniun, iron, B12, folic acid, phosphorus, and zinc.
3. Pancreas

The Pancreas secretes digestive enzymes and regulates blood sugar.

Due to its purpose in the body, raw pancreas therapy was once used to treat high blood sugar.

The organ itself is rich in vitamin C, B12, B5, B2, B3, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc.
4. Kidneys

The kidneys do 3 things:

-remove waste from the bloodstream
-secrete a hormone that influences blood pressure.
-help to regulate sodium, potassium, and calcium.

The Kidneys are rich in: vitamin A & Vitamin DB12, niacin, selenium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium, etc.
How to Incorporate into your diet:

One of the easiest ways to add more organ meat to your diet is to add it in small amounts to ground beef.

The beef will hide the flavor of the organs so you can't taste them.

Brands like Force of Nature also sell an "Ancestral Blend."
There are also some brands that sell Organ Capsules.

They conveniently desiccate the organs and put it into capsule form.

You don't have to worry about taste!

Heart & Soil @CarnivoreMD and @AncestralSupps make fantastic organ capsules:

Liver, Heart, Pancreas all included.
You can also buy the organs straight from a butcher or local farm.

Liver is cheap - around $2.50 / pound.

I like to freeze the liver, chop into small pieces, and pop them like capsules.

Others enjoy cooking with onions.

CAUTION: Cooked liver has a VERY distinct taste.
Remember, we are meant to eat Nose to Tail.

Organs are incredibly nutrient dense.

You can literally feel the burst of energy you get after eating them.

Self-experiment and figure out what works best for you.

YOU DESERVE TO THRIVE.

@SahilBloom thought you might appreciate this info considering your affiliation with Butcher Box!

Organs could be a great way to complement those juicy ribeyes.

In 2023, America produced over $92 Billion dollars worth of Corn.

It's also what is keeping you fat & sick.

THREAD🧵 Image
The US is obsessed with Corn.

Grown the right way, corn can be: delicious, nutritious, and beneficial for the environmental.

When mass-produced, corn can be: flavorless, unhealthy, and destroy what could be rich farm land. Image
The history of Corn:

Corn was created 9,000 years ago through breeding of a Mexican grass called Teosinte.

Scientists believe early Mexican inhabitants must have seen the nutritional potential of Teosinte due to the kernels that they produce. Image

The U.S. spent $4.3 trillion on health care in 2021.

We live in an epidemic of ultra-processed foods.

Here is how you have been lied to and what you can do about it: Image
Prior to the invention of food-like products, the men brought home dinner for the family.

Food was sacred.

It was treated with respect due to the man killing another conscious being.

Men suffered the mental burden, but what was the other option?

Part of being a man. Image
Around 12,000 years ago, we shifted away from hunting and gathering to permanent settlements.

We treated the land with respect and food was only plentiful for the most wealthy. Image

Since 2015, your meat has been fraudulently labeled a Product of the USA.

Here's how you're being lied to: Image
When walking by the meat counter at the grocery store, you will likely see the label "Product of the USA."

You may even see labels like "Pasture-Raised" or "Grass-Fed"

The labels are detracting from the fact that the beef you are about to purchase was not made in the USA. Image
In 2002, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) passed a law called the Country of Origin Labeling Act (COOL).

The law was part of the Farm Bill and was created to give consumers transparency into their meat + ranchers a fair price for growing meat domestically. Image

Did you know that McDonald's used to cook all of their food in beef tallow?

Then in 1990, a millionaire (who believed saturated fat was the root cause of heart attacks) campaigned for Mcdonald's to switch to a "heart-healthy oil."

Here is the full story: Image
Since 1954, McDonald's has been the behemoth of fast food.

McDonald's currently sells:

✅4,500 burgers every minute.
✅270,000 every hour.
✅6.48 million every day...

✅and 2.36 billion burgers every year. Image
McDonald's has 14,000 U.S. locations and is the face of American gluttony.

Processed meats, sugars, oils & convenience are the epitome of the Mcdonald's brand.

But what if this was not always the case? What if there was a world that existed where Mcdonald's was healthy? Image
