Every time something horrendous happens in this city, our elected officials run to the nearest podium, camera and microphone with embroidered jackets and shirts (so you know they’re serious) but why don’t they keep that same energy day in and day out, esp when the cameras are off
Of course many of them are doing the work daily without attention, but too many aren’t and only show up so they can say they were there.
Why aren’t they in these streets leading protests against crime and calling out judges and other elected officials for their actions the way they do the governor supports legislation they don’t like?
They have time to go yell Jim crow 2.0 but can’t find the time to talk to their colleagues at the county? They can show up for a picture at a food giveaway but have to run once the actual work starts?
Leaders lead they don’t just show up when the shooting stops and start talking about “initiatives” that’ll be rolled out next week. Spare me
