K P Shankar who beat up a corporation engineer for allegedly continuing with a road work has been relieved from the party post. #corporation #contractors #corruption 
I spoke to the engineer who was beaten up. He told me, he still cannot come to terms that he was beaten up for just doing his job. He went back to his home town to get over it.
The engineer also said he informed his seniors about it but none filed a police complaint against the MLA? Why? @chennaicorp
Sources said, the MLA had sought 5% as commission for the road work. The contractor informed him that he couldn’t give more than 1%. The Mla told him he wasn’t a beggar to get 1% and told him toys it only after paying 5%.
The engineers and officials backed the contractor and asked him to start work as they wanted the work to be completed on time. It was a 3cr worth tender and that road cost 30lakhs.
On Wednesday at 1.30 am the MLA called the engineer and asked him how he started the work and that the contractor hadn’t met him
The engineer who thought he could resolve it by speaking was at the spot. The MLA asked him to stay there and reached with his men and weapons. As soon as they reached there was no talking only beating up as it happens in films
The engineers, technical Assts, supervisors were all beaten up. Road mix lorries sent back and their vehicles were also taken. At midnight they were stranded there. Shocked they informed their seniors. This is what happened that night.
