URGENT ALERT! ARANETA GUARDS OPEN FIRE AT FARMERS AND FACT-FINDING TEAM IN BULACAN
Please read through this thread for full details⬇️
Earlier today, security guards and goons hired by Greggy Araneta opened fire at farmers, children, and peasant advocates conducting a fact-finding mission in Sityo Ricafort, Brgy Tungkong, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
The heavily-armed guards also seized the team’s cellphones, bags, and wallets, along with the canned goods brought as relief goods for the community. So far, two individuals have been reported injured.
The FFM team travelled to the area to interview farmers whose houses were illegally demolished by Araneta-hired guards last January 26.
This was the latest in a series of demolitions against SJDM farmers since February 2021, as Araneta Properties reportedly plans to construct a private subdivision on the disputed land.
Greggy Araneta, CEO of Araneta Properties Inc, is the brother-in-law of Bongbong Marcos.
We are outraged by the ruthless brutality displayed by Greggy Araneta and his trigger-happy goons, and stand with the SJDM farmers as they resist the demolition and land-grabbing.
We also call on local authorities to take immediate action against the violence, and the clear violation of Comelec’s gun ban.
