UPDATE: In line with the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project, the LASG will divert traffic from Yaba as it continues the First Phase of the construction of the RED LINE covering Oyingbo to Agbado from midnight Tuesday, 1st February, 2022 till 16th of February, 2022.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation, the Commissioner, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde averred that the 2 weeks long site activity will necessitate a diversion to protect Road users during the installation of Precast Beams.
According to the diversion plan, motorists heading to Muritala Mohammed way from Western Avenue will be diverted to Empire Road at Jibowu while traffic inbound Yaba will be diverted to Empire Road to access Western Avenue.
In the same vein, motorists on Herbert Macaulay will be able to connect Empire Road to access Western Avenue for their desired destinations.
The Commissioner assured that the site will be cordon off for the safety of the citizenry, adding that emergency vehicles will be on ground to tow mechanical faulty vehicles along the axis.
He also stated that signage’s will be placed on the access roads with the State’s Traffic Management Authority to manage traffic flow and minimize inconveniences.

Lagos State Governor, @jidesanwoolu, has mourned the passing of former Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG), Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya.
Adeniran-Ogunsanya, the daughter of prominent Ikorodu born politician and associate of the late Nnamdi Azikiwe, Prince Adeniran Ogunsanya, died after a brief illness on Tuesday at 74.
She was the Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG) during the first term in office of former Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) between 2007 and 2011.

FLASH: In line with the on-going infrastructure development, the Lagos State Government will divert traffic on Dopemu Road in Agege area of the state by 10:00pm on Friday 21st January, 2022 for the rehabilitation and upgrade of Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road for a duration of 3 months.
The Commissioner for Transportation, @dr_oladeinde explained that the repair works will be executed in 3 phases adding that the first phase of the project will focus on Ipaja road to Adealu street junction which will last for 3 months.
Oladeinde assured that alternative routes have been mapped by the State's Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA to enable effective control of vehicular movement along the axis during the duration of the construction.
UPDATE: The Lagos State Government has announced that Marine Bridge will partially closed from tomorrow, Monday 17th January to Saturday, 2nd April, 2022 for Emergency repair works on the infrastructure.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. @dr_oladeinde stated that the partial closure was to allow the Federal Government carry out routine maintenance works on the bridge infrastructure.
He further explained that the temporary closure of the bridge is in two sections, Apapa Outbound, which will be repaired between 17th January and 9th March, 2022, and the Apapa Inbound section of the bridge scheduled between10th March and 2nd April, 2022.
