Attn Hindus in gen&brahmins in particular! Involve your young children & adults in yr family in all rituals that you perform on all occasions.
Let'em help you in organizing those pujas, ceremonies etc held in your houses periodically. If they dont see them& feel the sraddha you
Attach with these rituals, they won't do them when they manage their own families. Especially Sraaddham (Divasam or tithi giving) like important ceremonies. If they dont perform Sraaddham, you won't get (எள்,தண்ணீர்&பிண்டம்)Tila, water & Riceball as Pitrus.
You wd've done it to yr
Parents but your children won't do it for their parents (Yes.Its You&Yr wife). Hindus worship all Devatas only thru Agni. So Sraaddham too to be performed with Agni only. No offering of arisi&Vaazhaikkai wd satisfy them as they are just peanuts for them.
Only on extraordinary
Occasions annual ceremony is done by this way by old ones when they become fragile.
All agile ones shall do it in the elaborate way suggested by Sastras.
You may skip devatapujas but skipping pitrupuja wd b detrimental to yr& yr childrens growth by all means.
I've seen many ppl🙏
When you perform ceremonies in yr house, you send yr children to schools/colleges/workplaces depriving them of opportunities to observe&watch all those items forming part of the ceremonies/rituals.
When they need to do them, they won't find it necessary due to various reasons.
We've Godmen here who easily attract young minds who may not stress the importance of performing these rituals. Yr children cd be their followers&wud follow what he advises, not what you practiced during yr life time. You wd be fool in their idea to hv performed all these things
I'm really concerned about the dwindling number of priests earlier available in villages for officiating various rituals for various communities due to continuous depiction of them in bad way by media like Films where they are ridiculed always. Young generation doesn't want to
Continue its traditional profession of priesthood for this very reason.
Its planned guilt-tripping by vested interests that eroded their self pride.
Loss is more for the society than d priest community.
Revival of purohithas is need of d hour.
@KanchiMatham has taken initiatives
Performing rituals are more important than acquiring knowledge of/in philosophy or religion acc to our Maharishis&ancestors.
Last 2-3 generations have erred in their understanding of this truth & didn't guide the society the way it needed it most.
We've ppl who know Advaita etc
But dont take rituals seriously&manage them with least importance to attach with them. Many of our Godmen too to attract young ones, don't insist on our rituals&give various explanations to gloss over them that is really misleading the society in wrong path.
This is time to wakeup
Another important issue to deal with.
We've inherited hereditary pooja from our ancestors in some or the other form. It could be panchayatanam or a particular pratima of particular Devata like Shivalingam, Nrsimha, Santhanagopala, Rajarajeswari etc. Many of us hv stopped offering
Pujas in the required format that was in vogue earlier. They hold their chaitanyam due to pūjas performed for several earlier generations but now are being starved of required pūja&neivedyam etc. Those families that gave up this suffer from multiple problems frm health to udyogam
They dont realize that their multiple sufferings for several decades are due to this neglect. Those fortunate 1s, by Gurukripa, realize the folly&take recourse to set things right with exceptional efforts. A good astrologer who knows to call 'Devaprasna' cud find d reasons 2tell us
What went wrong&where&how to rectify those mistakes.I know several such families who've corrected their earlier deeds&on path of happiness in their families like unmarried getting married, turbulent marriages getting straightened etc.Let's look back&find recourses to live happily
A friend frm USA wrote-
Namaste sir.Was reading your thread. Wanted your frank opinion on this and ready to accept it. Do poojas, japas, homam and rituals such as shraddham produce any fruits outside our Bharata desha? There are multiple opinions but I see biases on both sides
As i said i wont do vithanda vaatham. Will take your opinion as is.
Have had this question for a long time but your thread on involving next generation made me think.
I wrote the following: Acc2old schul Bharatham is Karmabhumi.Karmas are required for those living in this land
Once you move out to other places that are known as mleccha desa, your adhikara to perform karmas become null&void as the land in which you perform it has no religious sanctity. Hence your karmas performed out of our boundaries will bear no fruits. Its old school. If you have
required sraddha&bhakti needed for performing rituals,You may do it anywhere in the universe, you'll get certainly phalam at least partly if not in full.Keeping the spirit of Bharatiyatva in you alive by these performances will do good when you decide to come back here once for
all. After performing required prayaschittham, you may restart performing other karmas&involve your children in those rituals to steady the ship to sail through the rough waters of Samsara. आपत्सु अनन्तरावृत्ति:, वृत्तिं प्राप्य विरमेत् are 2 directions to be for ever remembered.

Except brahmin community, don't think any other community that keeps dead bodies in freezers for 3-4 days waiting for some1 to come from far off places to have a look at it.
Those deads have just lost this outer mortal coil kāryasarīra not the invisible kāraNa Sarīra. They've all
experiences like hunger, thirst etc to survive till it is sent to pitruloka. Until it remains as preta that neither is here nor at pitrloka. These intermediate days are very important for pretas to sustain themselves comfortably. Those kartas(Sons)need to perform last rites within
4-5hrs before the dead body sheds its warmth. Its considered to be neivedyam to agnibhagavan. We dont offer neivedyam that was prepared 4-5 days ago.
Request to all those who are destined to perform last rites, may do it as early as possible w/o undue delay.
If karta himself is

Deeply grieved to inform that Dr.R.Nagaswamy (renowned archaeologist& indic scholar&Padma Bhushan Awardee) has passed away a few minutes back at his residence in Besant Nagar; Colossal loss to Indian epigraphy&archeology in particular&great loss to the academic world in general😭
He was 92& was the 1st VC of our @SCSVMVUNIV . All his younger brothers' sons are Veda addhyayis teaching Vedas in various Vedapatasalas. My mentor he was. During his tenure, I was appointed as lecturer in Samskrtam at @sjsach . Lovely person with strong knowledge in his field🙏
On an Anusham day, Dr.R.N delivered this wonderful lecture on his experiences with Kanchi Mahaperiyava. (Headphones may be needed to hear it comfortably). Mahaperiyava played important role in shaping his career under Ramachandra Rap in archeology dept, TN

I've deliberately avoided the catchy word 'Sex' for sanskrit word maithunam here for the sake of attracting people to read my article in 4parts on the topic Garbhadhanam (impregnation) thats one of the 16samskaras that our Vaidika Maharishis have mandated for all of us.
Along with my Sishya Dr.S.Chandramouli (intern with SJSAC&H)I've deliberated here in this 2nd part about the act itself, its regulations laid down by Sastras from Dharma Sastra to Ayurveda for begetting a dharmic progeny for creating a dharmically healthy family.
Read & reflect.
2more parts are forthcoming in next weeks

Be it Adisankara or Ramanuja or any Acharya for that matter, they represent various ideas that we as society needed to cultivate in our mind to realize the parabrahman&its omni nature based on our ability to perceive it in our understanding. Such being the case, I'm amused to
See ppl hanging around nos of mathams or monastries those Acharyas had established for the sustenance&development of Sanatanadharma. They are hellbent on claiming that its only 4mathams&not more. What they are going to achieve with that? If its accepted, how SD is safeguarded?
Institutions since very long hv bn doing so many things for Sanatanadharma. Are their contributions little less than these mathams?
We as members of SD shall start behaving smarter now. I'm the original, you are duplicate etc hv no relevance to the suffering society. It needs
