1/ It's a new, unexplored design space.
Protocol design, tokenomics, wallet sign-in, governance mechanisms, nuances of building on-chain, etc all feel fresh and new and unexplored in design, acquisition, core loops.
This *freshness* and frontier-feeling energizes builders.

2/ Growth + in the zeitgeist: If 2020 was the summer of DeFi, 2021 was definitely the year of NFTs and DAOs taking over not just our corner of the tech industry but also popular culture.
It follows that smart+ambitious people want to go where growth/the zeitgeist is headed.

3/ App layer unlocking design+product talent:
The last couple of years, we've seen web3 climb into the app layer (think "things with pixels").
This has brought in designers, product builders who were always interested but couldn't bring their skillset to crypto infra.

As a test: I see so many interesting mocks around crypto in Figma now! This would not have been possible circa 2017.
4/ Belief in decentralization: We have had the same central companies dominate the tech landscape for over a decade.
There is strong motivation to find a new playbook/space which can help overturn that or where the existing companies don't have a presence in.

5/ Tokens+liquidity: I think this is the least important part but tokens definitely open up new kinds of compensation/incentive models.
I must have personally had atleast a dozen conversations over the last week with FAANG/web2 talent at all levels looking to move.
This is just the beginning IMO.

I plan on also writing/creating more content for folks looking to move over. From where to get started to how to map out the space to obviously how to think about different kinds of roles. I've gone on this journey myself thanks to folks like @cdixon and would love to help others
