What is @crypto_unicorns and why am I excited about the game?.. A 🦄 🧵[1/23]

FYI - I will do my best to boil down the key parts into high level summaries but I highly encourage you to read supplementary documentation.

30,000 ft. summary - Crypto Unicorns is a not so serious, fun farming simulation game which will also include Battle loops such as Jousting, Racing and Team RPG.

Ok so what?...Lets unpack this a bit.. ending thread with the juicy parts. [2/23]

The game features a player owned economy starting with NFTs in the form of Unicorns and land.

There are 10k Genesis eggs (Unicorns) and initial supply of 30k units of land separated into 3 categories of rarity (Common, Rare & Mythic).

Unicorns come with a subset of 'genes' which contribute to a Unicorns traits and stats (Not one Unicorn is the same).

There will be multiple choices a player is faced with based on what parts of the game they want to specialize in.

Some Unicorns may be good at Jousting while others may be good at racing. Players will have to strategize and determine which traits suit them best based on their gameplay objectives.

Adult unicorns will also be able to breed and produce baby unicorns which has its own in game loop which has quite a bit of depth and strategy involved.

A baby Unicorns traits and genes will be dependent on the parents that bred the Unicorn.

Additionally, a player will be able to add class boosters in the form of in-game items such as 'berries' & 'materials' each with their own benefits.

Baby Unicorns can eventually be evolved into an adult unicorn utilizing valuable in-game items 'class berries' and the utility token 'Rainbow Token & 'Unicorn Milk'

Moving onto land..

There are 3 types of land which all have their own individual utility, multipliers and multiple decisions paths that can be followed.

I wont go too in depth but land is very valuable within the game.

There will also be an in-game 'marketplace' where players can trade in-game assets such as Berries (Class Berries) and crafting materials.

Players will assign value to certain in game items over others based on their specialization.

The game includes a 2 token ecosystem similar to Axie Infinity.

RBW - Rainbow Token = ERC20 Governance token (Similar to AXS)

UNIM - Unicorn Milk = ERC20 utility token (Similar to SLP)

RBW holders will be able to utilize these tokens in a variety of ways including Unicorn Evolution and Breeding, Staking to vote on key governance decisions, and Treasury management.

Key point on tokenomics - I am a fan of the 1 year cliff (Developer will not receive tokens until 12 months after token launch)

This incentivizes the team to deliver long term and the tokens success is important to the team.

Players will earn UNIM via in-game competitions, events and tournaments. It will be used for breeding and 'burned' once done, this token sink is important to the longevity of the UNIM token.

The team launched a mini staking game to allow users to accumulate UNIM or sacrifice (burn) UNIM for a dark unicorn egg or a valuable loot box with in-game items.

This shows the teams commitment towards building, community and early backers.

Speaking of.. Who is the team? Well friends, this is what I am most excited about.

I invest in teams, vision and execution. There are few teams I am more confident in than the team at laguna.games (Studio name of game maker)

Lastly, I think the neighborhoods concept of the game is a great social concept to introduce 'stickiness'.

People want to hang out with friends and have fun together. If they can deliver on this feature then the game has potential to thrive.

1. All-star team with vision putting community first and executing ✅

2. The game isn't taking itself too serious and it looks 'fun' ✅

3. The game loops appear to enable long term sustainable in game economy that can rewards the players ✅

If I had to give any criticism at all..

Barrier to entry is quite high now in recent days as the floor sky rocketed to ~2 eth.

I am curious to see how this plays out once the game launches and how breeding will play into the ability to lower the barrier to entry.
