Is collapsing. Operators leaving in their droves. It is now under strength. Capacity to respond to a situation is questionable. Owed thousands of € in back pay and still begging for it. The army reserve is a shambles. Ran down to nothing. Was 13k now 1300. #FundtheDF
The naval service has 9 ships of which 2 are permanently tied up. 2 are undergoing maintenance etc and struggling to crew the remaining 5. As the primary sea going agency of the state the crews get less per day than any other sea going agency. What is the mission? #fundthedf
The naval reserve is almost non existent. New boats to come on stream have no crews. They will be mothballed on day one. Sailors sleep in their cars as there is nowhere on base or in cork that they can afford to live. #fundthedf so what do we do
The air corps is losing skilled technician by the bucket load. We are having to spend millions to outside contractors to keep aircraft in the air instead of paying a proper wage to retain qualified personnel. We have no intercept aircraft and no primary radar.
We couldn’t identify a threat if it came up and punched us in the face. We are blind.we send peacekeeping forces over seas and don’t provide the equipment to keep them safe. We have no ability to get them or any other citizen home as we don’t have suitable aircraft for the job.
It’s time to wise up as a nation and stop freeloading off the goodwill of others. We need to invest in our own security. #investindf
