The Department of Defense announced that U.S. forces had carried out a "successful" counterterrorism mission last night in northwest Syria. thehill.com/policy/defense…
The operation targeted Islamic State leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, who died at the start of the operation by blowing up himself and members of his family with a bomb.
Biden called al-Qurayshi’s move “an act of desperate cowardice.”
The mission resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people, including women and children. There were no U.S. casualties.
One U.S. military helicopter experienced mechanical problems which resulted in a forced landing. It was later was destroyed by an American attack aircraft.
Biden said the operation sent a message to terrorists around the world: “We will come after you and find you.”

Statutes of limitations have long been a central player in other toxic exposure cases. Toxic exposure cases also present unique difficulties that would not come about in other cases, such as a lawsuit regarding an automobile accident or even medical malpractice cases.

Meanwhile, in Michigan, an effort to give people more time to sue has languished in the legislature.

So what is expected to happen on the debate stage? Washington is bracing for an ugly and personal debate with both Trump and Biden expected to go after each other’s age, mental acuity and fitness for office. thehill.com/homenews/campa…
Before the debate, Biden and Harris released their 2019 tax returns. The move comes as Trump faces criticism after a bombshell NYT report detailed 20 years of his taxes. Biden paid a total of $299,346 in taxes, for an effective tax rate of about 30%. thehill.com/homenews/campa…
