It’s interesting to read the analysis of others when they only know one part of the problem.

In any war, know your enemy. And these people are, unfortunately, enemies of the state. Enemies of democracy.

@mattgurney’s analysis is relatively accurate. But it’s incomplete.

He’s looking at the situation as a military situation. And it is, but the group of people behind this are using terrorist tactics.

They’re hiding behind women and children. A bouncy castle is a dead giveaway.

So who are these people who have placed numerous children in the middle of a military siege?

They are primarily Dominionist Christian nationalists and conspiracy theorist Q’Anon. Some white supremacists, left and right anarchists, a few radicalized FN and paid saboteurs.

That’s who has been targeted for the past several years with military grade PSYOPS meant to radicalize and foster extremism.

That Facebook breach of identities has been used to build an army of extremists.

And in case anyone is keeping score, journalists aided & abetted them.

By legitimizing both sides and giving platforms to people whose grasp on reality was clearly tenuous at best, the fourth estate permitted this to occur basically unchallenged.

So blaming the governing party & law enforcement for the political inability to prevent this is 🐮 💩.

The media is far more culpable than any of the politicians scrambling to address this volatile situation. Not that they weren’t partially asleep at the wheel, mind you. But media providing legitimacy to this faction of society certainly tied their hands.

And you’d think they would know better?! I mean, we just went through five years of sheer hell living next door to the source of this turmoil. They watched American media make Trump their click bait darling & NEVER questioned motives of overtly evangelical Christian politicians.

They’ve watched Canadian conservative politicians echo their American counterparts using much of the same demagogic populism. They helped normalize mind fuckery by the far right. There are twenty year olds who believe this style of politicking is completely normal.

It’s not.

There hasn’t been normal politics in Canada since FLQ October Crisis of 1970. Incrementally extremism was introduced into political discourse. The creation of the Reform Party and its numerous libertarian Evangelical Christian extremists was the overt clue things were very wrong.

But media never questioned the agenda of Reform Party members. It was only when Stockwell Day revealed his faith included disdain for scientific theories like evolution in favour of creationist beliefs that journalists took notice. But only to laugh & shame him for his ignorance.

That was another major clue. Completely ignored by most journalists. Not all mind you, but it’s taboo to focus on religious beliefs too much. So the libertarian Christian nationalist party was given a pass.

Then they merged with Progressive Conservatives in 2003.

Purging most moderates and progressives, the party has housed mainly Dominionist Christian extremists and libertarian hard liners for close to two decades. Leaving the moderate right without a political party or representation.

So those folks moved to the LPC and NDP and tried to take over the parties. Occasionally I wonder if that was the intent.

For crying out loud, people still believe Jack Layton was a socialist. No.

Layton’s father was a conservative politician and Jack’s political style was demagogic populist left libertarian. He was very charming. Charismatic. And he teamed up with Stephen Harper to remove the Liberal Party as competition using a trumped up scandal pinned on the PM.

Funny how history rhymes isn’t it?

Harper had difficulty winning a majority. Prorogation when scandals emerged and verified electoral cheating finally gave him a majority in 2011.

Harper was Canada’s Trump. But he was a lot more secretive.

Harper didn’t announce his sweeping policy changes. He hid them in enormous omnibus bills. Most Canadians don’t realize that Harper had almost 10 years to dismantle many of the foundations of democracy in Canada. But us old folks have them engrained.

He opened Canadian media to foreign ownership, removed some voting rights, gerrymandered political ridings with help from complicit PC provincial counterparts, and cheated every election (it’s a matter of public record).

He also sold Canadian resources to ~ 30 other nations with FIPAs & ensured the right of investors to profit over Canadian sovereignty by bypassing the Canadian courts so international tribunals with neoconservative judges could null Canadian laws in regards to F/P/T policy.

Where were journalists then? When Harper was dismantling the democratic protections for Canadian citizens? Both “sides-ing” the authoritarian creep that began in 2006, not 2015. Giving Harper tacit approval for altering Canadian legal system and gutting the bureaucracy.

Focussing on Muslim terrorism that has barely touched the domestic Canadian society.

journalists ignored the rise of white supremacist terrorist violence. Sure they reported it. But they did no analysis of where it was coming from and what it was connected to.

It was connected to Dominionist Christianity and the CNP. The Council for National Policy in the US.

At the same time Harper cut the RCMP & Federal Prosecution operational budgets & redirected those departments to focus on threats of Muslim terrorists. A few were found.

But that also meant the white supremacists could grow & metasitisize with impunity. Build their support networks. Secure funding. Indoctrinate as many young white men as possible in Alt Right ideology.

The other growing cancer he released was money laundering and corruption.

Canada became known for snow washing. Borrowing Canada’s squeaky clean reputation to launder Chinese, Russian and American oligarchs’ ill gotten gains.

Of course this is all known because some journalists were paying attention, but why isn’t it common knowledge?

That’s what helped contribute to our current situation. Journalists got lazy and sought click bait fake scandals instead of educating the public. They have organized criminals and Dominionist Christians gain a foot hold and indoctrinate millions of Canadians.

Those are the Canadians demanding a coup be performed. Using children as a protective shield like the terrorists they are.

There is no police force equipped to address that level of organized militarized coordination. Or a military wanting to use force around children.

And in case we have all forgotten because this is so traumatizing and frightening; Putin is threatening to invade Ukraine in a matter of days. He’s waiting for the end of the Olympics in deference to his best buddy Xi.

What is every democratic nation now contending with rather than building global public support for the condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine & sanctions that have been threatened?

Far right truck convoys.

Australia, Brussels EU, US Capitol, & several others being planned.

When’s the last time the impending annexation of Ukraine was even mentioned in political conversation?

Well guess what? Putin is a Dominionist Christian using the Orthodox Christian faith vs Protestantism and Catholicism of North America.

There. That’s what I think of your analysis. And the whole profession of journalism.

You’ve failed to keep the public informed.

But I’m not giving up on journalism.

Get out there and connect the dots for people.

We’re being invaded by domestic Christian libertarians.

People who are out of touch with reality.

I mean who could believe that pretending the Covid pandemic is over by removing all mitigation efforts will make Covid disappear? People who aren’t using critical thinking skills. They’re just obeying orders to overthrow democracy.

Which will cause their own deaths & suffering and increase the suffering of the vaccinated and health cautious.

The leaders of this political movement don’t care one damn but if their foot soldiers die, get sick or suffer. Not one damn bit.

They’re fully prepared to sacrifice every life occupying cities and borders and demanding a coup.

They wouldn’t even blink once.

We are all in danger, we are all victims of this global criminal enterprise seeking to destroy democracy as an option.

Quit believing in Canadian exceptionalism and that Canada is the centre of the universe. These problems are occurring across the globe. Like Q’Anon, it isn’t limited to North America. Hundreds of millions of people are caught up in this operation.

Focussing on local or national issues is a trap. These events are happening in several nations at the same time. And while kismet and serendipity may exist, there isn’t any way in hell this is all just coincidence.

It is a conspiracy to eliminate democracy.
